Interested to hear actual results, product specs and recommended installation seem to favour carbon can.

They do work to some degree, as all carbon filters do. However they restrict airflow immensely. I was given one to try 2 years ago at the max yield expo in MI. They weren't giving them out but after talking to the rep for a while he gave me one to try, I didn't ask but he wanted feedback. Because of the performance I was reluctant to get back to him, however I ran into the same company at a MMMR event, different reps although they new each other, and I explained the problems I had with the product. They fully understood. It was free so. I did use it one other time during a time when airflow wasn't a huge issue and it worked pretty good for odor control. I have also used the du passe carbon filters which allow better airflow but still only work to a degree, if the variety is super stinky there is usually little you can do.
