So, after spending much time reading, researching & reviewing all sorts of ballasts, I settled on Noctex. The ballast itself is a bit of a departure in the design, execution and choice of materials used by the manufacturer.
One of my greatest concerns with all digital ballasts is RFI. Noctex has very neatly addressed this issue with the use of a composite case. No metal! Hence the model name "Zero". Tested it upon arrival and installation and it positively lives up to its name (used an AM portable radio for my un-scientific test). Same result with my cellphone and cable.
The unit is dimmable in 10 watt increments with overclocking to 1200W! A built in ball bearing fan keeps the unit running extremely cool.
Nice touch is the external temperature probe that is adjustable and dials down the wattage until the set temperature is reached.
My space is approximately 12 X 12 so I went ahead and purchased a second unit. I'm using AAW Large Avengers with 1K super eye hortilux lamps. I'm also using a 12K mini-split to handle cooling (sealed room).
The setup is running like a champ with temps averaging 79-81F.
I have no affiliation with this outfit but, I'm definitely impressed enough to suggest it as an option if your in the market.
BTW, the price point won't break the bank.
Happy to answer any ?'s.
Thnx,
