Id like to hear from people who have actually tried them. Ive found alot of posts from people who think they wont work. And only a few from people who have actually used them. I have the start of a mite problem and hung a few NPS in hopes they will work. If they do great. if they dont ill be sure to follow up and let you know. Theres alot of threads here that poeple start and just bail on. Anyone with any experience with the NPS your info is greaty appreciated. Peace LL

Just tried one for the first time to deal with a fungus gnat problem. I have a worm compost bin and it really draws those suckers. After maybe a week, there were no more fungus gnats.

just keep in mind that the main ingredient will fuck u up just as bad as it does it bugs.

so be careful how you use it

the biggest key the no pest strips is that if you use ventilation the fumes wont be able to build up enough to really knock em out...

i use no pest strips on non flowering plants and i get a big rubbermaid tub put 1 in and then add plants i then cover almost all the way for 48 hours then repeat 2 more times that works also a closet will work for bigger plants..

If you plan on just hanging them in an 8x10 room with a vortex fan sucking air out... you will never get enough of a concentration to kill em i had 3 yes 3!! in an 8x8x7 room with ventilation and they actually spun webs around the tops of my buds within 6 inches of the no pest strips...

also you must remember that it is almost impossible to get rid of mites with one product as they develop immunity so quickly that is why a multipronged attack is best

Edit: He beat me to it.. And damn look at the time difference between the posts.. boy I'm a slow stoned typer aint I:rasta:

Seems to be hit or miss as to those who have had success with them, and those who haven't, and yeah you also have those who never tried them, and just dont like them for whatever reason and like to voice their opinion. Which is somewhat what this forum is for I guess.

I have used them. For fungus gnats & flys though, never mites. They worked for the gnats/flys, but you have to use enough of them for the space. You also have to turn fans and exhaust/scrubber off at least through the nights so it has a chance to build up within ur grow at some point and do it's job (this is key). Also if your grow room is on the hot side ur going to have to replace them sooner as you would an air freshener in a hot dry area.

For the gnats in my 5 x 2 x 8ft closet I used 3 of those strips. I put 1 up high amongst the canopy, and the other 2 I put resting between pots cause thats where the gnats like to do their thing. At first I used less strips and left them in all day-night long, now If I have to buy and use them I just place them in during the night when I'm not there, and put them back into the packages during the day when everything is on. short and sweet. Along with sprinkling a lil of the mosquito dunks on daily, I use them both for a week or two until no more bugs are seen.

Even though my usage was with gnats/flies I thought some of the info may be useful for you and ur treatment of the mites. I'd like to hear how they work for you with the mites.. Good luck with killing those bastards.

dontstepongrass thnx for the heads up and congrats on the roots man. lol

firsttimegrower, Mister Postman. Thnx for the info. My room is 2x3x5. I just finished sealing off the room for atleast the night. I figure ill seal the room every night at lights out. Exhaust fans are off and the NPS is hanging just above the plants. Im using 1 NPS as of right now. Im not as worried about the blooming plants as i am my freshly rooted and xplanted clones. I inspected the veggers and dont see any signs of mites on them. As a precaution i put another NPS in my veg box and completly sealed it off. I put a single 27 watt cfl in there just for some light. My fingers are crossed and i will forsure let you know my results.

I have a rubbermaid 'deck box' made into a veg chamber with lights installed in the lid. I use it as a hospital when i get sick/infested plants. The no pest strips wipe mites out the 1st round and can always keep the population down but its better to spray neem as a backup/maintenance solution to keep their immunity down..i like to spray floramite mid-veg on my garden and a knock down or 2 on my mother plants. This, plus my monthly use of a sulpher burner pretty much keeps pests away ( i have more problems with gnats and aphids than mites)....always space some time between spraying neem and using your burner, i found out the hard way that sulpher will fry your neem sprayed plants( i use lesser strength mixes/ shorter burn times and try to space 10 days between or rotating which plants get what)...i hope this jumbled mess helped someone...the NPS work well
