This is a hybrid I got from a friend who I unfortunately haven't been able to get in contact with since, so I can't be more specific on the genetics, like which Sour Diesel the NL5xHaze is crossed with. Anyways the important thing is that it absolutely kicks ass and out grows anything I've had before! Stretch was 2x+, she grew the first 4 weeks of flower.
She has extreme vigor, growing faster in veg than any other strain I've had, and responds greatly to supercropping, topping, defoliation (had to try, she didn't mind
) etc.
Fan leaves were huge already when I received the clone, even though she was only 5 inches tall which impressed me, even though I'm here for buds
She's a little leafy for my taste, but I like the fact that branches have very short spacing between nodes, so it fills out.
Unfortunately she and her friends were attacked severely by spidermites around 4th week of flower, but I managed to fight their numbers down, and my trusty vacuumer took care of business when those assholes started to web my canopy.
She was vegged for 9-10 weeks in a 1,5 gallon pot under 250w, and transfered to 3 gallons before flowering under 600w. I should have gone bigger..
This is in week 7½ just before harvest.
7+ feet tall / 205 cm
I almost couldn't believe that a plant this big could finish that quick, but when I harvested her, the trichomes were 5% amber, so even though I could have given her more time, with a yield of 110 grams / 3.8 oz at the time I took her down, I don't complain. She was in a tent stacked with other plants including an identical clone that yielded the same, and with the bug attack in mind, I'm happy with the outcome.
The above was from 6 weeks ago, now I'm trying her out in SCROG. This is my first time ever touching a net, so I hope it will turn out okay..

Appearence
I think she looked beautiful, unfortunately the mites (plus some trips) did their best to destroy that, but I think the top colas ended up looking okay, pretty frosty

Texture/Feel 9/10
Semi hard nugs, very crispy on the outside while sticky on the inside, the way it's supposed to be
Smell 7/10
- During flower: a mixture of earthy, sour (not fuelly) and lemon, perhaps some grape there too
-When cured: earthy & lemon when breaking buds up
-When smoked: skunk and fuel odor
The bud is completely different when fired up, very skunky and fuelly, the most stinky plant I've ever smoked!! She makes my relatively big flat stink several hours after smoking. It just sits in your clothes, even if you smoke outside and it hits your jacket, it smells 30 mins later when you walk inside. Seriously, none of my other strains have this sort of 'sticky smell'.
To be honest, it's not cool that it stinks so much. I don't mind the smell, but I mind that it could penetrate concrete walls and bother my neighbors
Taste 8/10
I cured some of it for 1½ months now, and the taste is a mix of herby and lemon/cirtrus, not too harsh on the lungs if you take moderate puffs. Multiple tokes or big ones doesn't work for me, it fills out the lungs pretty quick.
High 9/10
Awesome high, very clear headed, and social. When the effect takes off I don't get sleepy at all. Very sativa dominant for sure. High lasts for around 1½ hour when smoked in a joint.
Overall 9/10
The only downside is how much she stinks when put on fire, otherwise she is a pleasure to grow & smoke. Definitely a keeper mom to pollinate when i enter the breeding stage of my career. Not yet though
Hope you liked the report, I can only recommend the NL5xHaze genetics, I would love to have the original, but I'm sure Sour Diesel didn't hurt the quality of the outcome in my cross!
