A Morris County, NJ doctor has admitted to smoking 30 joints a day.

MORRIS COUNTY — A former doctor told a judge in New Jersey that he's "guilty as sin" of growing marijuana and smoking 30 joints a day.

Edwin Struve told a judge in Morris County he had 58 marijuana plants in his Chatham home that he's been cultivating since he came home from the Army in 1968.

The Daily Record of Parsippany reports Struve and his lawyer said Struve used marijuana to relieve the effects of glaucoma and mild brain damage.

Officials are seeking to have the judge place Struve under supervised probation in the Morris County Prosecutor Office's mental health program.

The program uses therapy, counseling and medication to address psychiatric problems behind the commission of crimes.

Guess smoking pot makes us psycho. 30 joints a day. Would be hard to hang with this guy.

We'll take that nasty old (relatively harmless, obviously beneficial) cannabis away from you and give you some great new (not fully tested) compounds with 30 side-effects. (Don't worry, we'll give you pills for that, too!) That'll make everything better and keep you from wanting to break the law by growing your own better medication for free!

i love where i live, just don't like the med laws, which why we are going to work to change them

NJ HAS A WRITE IN OPINION OF THE LAW OPEN UP NOW FOR RESIDENTS. There was just a public hearing on march 7th(this past monday) I got a thread on the latest--- https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=205615.

So basically the law is still up in the air. Christie (our governor) put in a bunch of super restrictive laws, the public complained, so the legislature voted them down, and now will either make it be rewritten, or write the laws themselves. I would personally rather have the legislature make the rules.

I say everyone PLEASE write in, demand this program is started soon, and suggest some helpful things, Like home growing of 6 mature plants and 12 overall, Remove the limit of 10%thc to allow for different doses and strength of the medicine, which would make it like any other medicine, and stuff like that. The law sucks, and we have to change it now before it goes into effect.

The weird thing is we are in limbo, as the law had been signed so we technically have it, but noones growing or even knows who will grow it yet, christie administration has been dragging its feet. Seeming soft on med MJ would look bad for his upcoming spotlight in the 2012 election he is waiting for.

I don't understand this. I know the impulse, but don't recognize it as reality.

There have been problems. Some crime associated with this and that. But on the aggregate- especially considering the semi-legal (and subsequently highly lucrative) nature of the business- the net result has been very little real crime associated with medical marijuana.

Bad apples are in the paper every day, but I think sometimes non-Left Coast residents lose sight of the scope of this thing. There was more pot clubs than Starbucks in Denver for a long time.

Its seems as more states allow med use they are removing the individual from the process.
I think in NJ the patient isn't going to be allowed to grow it themselves and there is going to be limited distribution centers to get your meds.

Just leave me the fuck alone...I don't want your opiods anymore, I hate being dependent on them, If I miss a dose, like I did lastnight, I feel like shit until I get caught up on my level.
