There were some amazing genetics always around my hood . Some that stand out were the Hashplant and a Nigerian strain we always saw called the “Nige” . A few others stand out as well.. Was wondering if anyone can shed some light on these . I’d kill to get some cuts or beans if they are still around .. I’m about to reach out to some ole friends in Philly to see what I can shake up . I have some info on the RKS and it’s origins if there’s any interest .. At least what was available in my area .

We had an NL variant too called “Elvis” which came from NJ. Floated around Philly and the main line too . Closely held in the Jewish community ..

Greetings. I keep some older Pa clone genetics though they were acquired in the NE many years ago. Blueberry cake which is old stretch Indica blueberry cut from Pittsburgh. Also the vintage era sensi silver haze. It my opinion that both these cuts rep phenotypes that would be close to impossible to find anymore.

Also grew and still have an old cross of late 90’s- Early 2k state college super skunk male x mv island-race. They be getting old now, last reproed in 06.

NE of philly we had Rks in 1993 (after brick) but it wasn’t long before NL took its place

I’ve been watching the RKS threads for the last 10 years and have avoided posting just because I didn’t want to deal with any drama . What I will tell you is it was everywhere in Upper Bucks Co . It came from Hunterdon Co NJ bikers near Frenchtown .. Was lime green with near no pistils .. All calyx .. I believe it was an old Afghani , possibly crossed to a Mexican . This year I’m reaching out to all my old connections to see what I can come up with..

I get nostalgic when I think about it .. The best herb I’ve puffed to this day came from Pa ... Via 90s Dutch genetics and closely held cuts from the Northeast ..

highsteppa great to hear you’ve still got some gems .. I have some Sensi Silver Pearl bx’d to Sk#2 that’s been around for a long time .. I’m going to do some interesting pollen chucks 2020 . Man I miss the old days ..

Yea man we’re from the same area...yardley to pt pleasant, Frenchtown down to trench town. We spent a lot of time out in the river...there were some epic rope swings on the islands.

I grew up just north of Pittsburgh. The three most memorable strains from the late 90s/early 2000s for me were Blueberry, Super silver haze and white widow.

Many parties went down in 02-03 at PSU that had some of the best herb.. I spent a fair bit of time in the summers in Lebanon with a shovel and a 20" bike too. Great times.

Pennsylvania is full of old growers and genetics and most of them still aren't talking. I don't blame them one bit.

Well the nige you’re talking about AJ and JJ still have I believe. I saw it growing in a room of AJs a year or so ago, so it’s around.

The Elvis is the most elusive thing around but it’s still kicking from what I know. Very select people get the honor to hold that cut. And if they are holding it they aren’t giving it out.

Yes Pa laws have been some of the worst to navigate , I get why a lot of people are tight lipped . It’s sometimes good to shake the tree when you’re trying to source some old gems .

I figured JJ’s Nigerian he uses in crosses was the one . I’m wondering if it came from Afropips stock . I’ve ran Reef’s Nigerian Nightmare . Great herb . Not the “one” you know ?

Some of y'all are in my area of SE PA..

It was early 80's when I came home from serving overseas, during my deployment I started sending hash home as it was scarce when I was young. Met a guy who would trade me nice bud whenever I was ready to let a chunk or two go. That was my intro to non brickweed..

I purchased an oz back in late 70's as a young pup.. I was expecting a grounding. Asked an older dude who lived next to me to get me some good weed.. he brought back what they called Hawaiian, most memorable smoke I ever had. grew out Seedsman Maui Waui and that wasn't close.

It is tight lipped here in Pa, but not like it used to be. To this day I only know of 1 or 2 friends of friends who might be members here.

Makes it tough to find elite cuts, i'm not the type to ask around. There's a Gene Traders show coming up in Mass i want to run up to in Jan.. few guys here who will be vending.

Going into more detail about the Nige....
JJs work is based off the Nigerian Silk clone that’s been around the NE for ages. JJs Nigerian is Nigerian Silk x (Nigerian Silk x 5hz).

Now where the Nigerian Silk originated and came from I don’t know. I’m sure someone on here knows something about it. I’ve smoked her and it’s definitely some really energetic, get off your ass and do something type of weed, that’s for sure.

The Elvis cut was in Vt as well...I have Elvis x vt old school seeds but the few I’ve grown we’re totally dominated by the old vt line. Ne kingdom had a direct line from nyc, first boel HI imports the the Ghani in early 80’s
