looks hungry for nitrogen to me.....

Unlike a magnesium deficiency, nitrogen def will start from the tips and work its way back to the leaf node. Nitrogen and Magnesium get confused. The best way to tell them apart is, nitrogen deficiency starts around the tips and works its way to the back of the leaves, where a magnesium deficiency will cover the entire outer part of the leave and make the entire leaves yellow leaving the veins to stay green. If your plants are having a slow growth rate and have yellowing of the leaves, then most likely it’s a nitrogen deficiency.

Looks like nitrogen, but I also see magnesium starting; get them a little more magneisum, but get them some nitrogen too.

Give them nitrogen, but I'd give them magnesium too to be sure. Your PH is probably fine unless you added a crap load of lime or something weird. If it's store bought soil with nothing added the PH should be fine.

I'm using a Sindingen pH meter (6.4-6.5). The soil is Happy Frog / Light Warrior / sm. pearlite. I'm feeding every watering (~ every 3 days) 1/4 of the recommended dose which is 30 ml/g (Age Old 12-6-6). Last watering a bumbed it up to 12 ml/g. Just bought some calmag today...I'm give 'em some as soon as they are thirsty...how much calmag per gallon??

thanks guys...you rock!

you know it is interesting that you pointed out the mg problem Stitch...I can now see it in the flower room too....wish i had posted that problem earlier...I would have gotten a better harvest. There is also a big difference between how the master and the diesel handle the deficiency...master good...diesel very BAD! lanky strung out MeSs.

I would post pictures, but it is embarrassing

Ug, I would not feed them that dose again; you may have burned them, you want to feed them no more than 1 tsp per gallon 5 ml per 4 liters of water.....

If they crisp up or turn brown you better flush them out with a lot of water, and do NOT feed them every 3 days with the dosage, wait for 6 to 7 days before feeding again..... you have to have some plain water in between feedings or you get a builtup of salts that will cause you more problems, so I hope you did not burn them by slamming them with that high dosage... when the plants get bigger you can feed them more, but you slowly increase it, it's better to underfeed than over feed, because when you over feed you have to flush out the plant and cause the plant more stress by getting there roots really wet.
I would use 2 ml of the cal mag per 4 liters of water.

Yikes! If I burned them is it immeditate? How long until I can see it. I watered two days ago. Some still look hungry for N. Lots of healthy undergrowth. Also getting a discoloration around the lear margins. I'll flush today and add the calmag...cross your fingers.

That last pic you are seeing is a zinc deficiency; so you definatly have some lockout going, every zinc problem I have seen was caused by too much nutrients or pH incorrectly.

Did this happen after you fed them like a day or 2?

Ok so this happend a day or 2 after you fed them then? If so then you Did burn them and since you already flushed them out as long as you flushed them good zinc will come back to the plant....

it will return to it's normal green color; as for the yellowing of the leaves.... the color will not come back to it, so you want to check semi newer growths above the affected leaves to make sure they are not going to yellow.

Since you flushed them you flushed out nutrients that were in the mixture as well; so you will need to feed again in about 5 to 6 days........

I'm getting ready to transplat into 1 gallon bags and am wondering what I should feed them. I'm thinking of pH water and superthrive (6 drop/g). The soil (2/3 happyfrog. 1/3 large perlite) has alot of nutrients and given that I just overfed and flushed....just thought I would ask the experts first before making my next move.

no no do not use drops per gallon, 1 drop per gallon is strong enough; that should be just fine, do not use it until you transplant; never use it for a standalone feeder nor as an additive; should only be used while transplanting to help the plant stop shock if any has occured.

Update...things are going really well for the most part (see photos), but I noticed today some splotchy leaves...any idea what this is....I have some PM on the lower leaves and am treating with neem. Feeding 5 ml / g (Age Old 12-6-6) grow 2.5 ml / g cal/mag, but have not been that consistent with the cal/mag...could this be the problem. Also should I be feeding more, the plant are about 1.5 +ft...

thanks,
aota
