Nirvana White Rhino

Nirvana's White Rhino is a great strain... easy to grow, hardy, yields well and has a potent couchlock stone. However, I find the flavor lacking and the smoke just too harsh for my tastes. I might grow it again one day however.

The taste I agree is not anything to write home about, but I didn't find it to be particularly harsh; perhaps a flush and a good cure make the difference?

The bud was both flushed and cured. It's more a personal preference thing... I prefer softer, less "hashy" smoke than the WR. For instance, BurmaBerry (Burmese X Shiskaberry) smokes much less harsh for me than the WR when both have same flush and cure.

I have kinda weak lungs I think... maybe from double pneumonia as a kid.

I grew Nirvana WR a couple of times. First i got a purple pheno that did taste great but it did not yield well and the second time i got this wonderfully colorful plant that was much more potent than the first one and tasted like cappuchino with extra chocolate on top.....wierd huh. But i must agree that the stone got a lit tiresome as it was extremly couchlocky(maby cos i let them go for 70days!!!!!!!)

ive had it for 4 years...... phased out alot of so called "Elites" just so i could keep it..... IMO WR is the best of Nirvana's gear......

Mmmmmmmm, Rhino.....

I don't know who the hell would take WR over an elite. Are you talking elite clones? Thats what people mean by elite. I wouldn't grow any of nirvanas strains over most breeders, IMO their breeding is BS and the phenos from the 3 nirvana strains i've grown were mediocre at best. I grew white rhino and got these phenos:

Purple Pheno (looked about 50/50 indica/sativa, grew one golfball sized nice on each branch up most of the plant rather than one thick cola, grew pretty damn tall too)

Sativa Leaning Pheno (looked about 60-70% sativa, grew airy buds and had a terrible yield. took about 20 days more than purple and indica pheno. didn't grow as tall as the purple pheno suprisingly. my least favorite pheno)

Indica Leaning Pheno (looked to be about 80-90% indica, my favorite pheno although still mediocre. this plant had very dense buds and was very short and squat. It yielded a tiny bit more than the tallest plant which was almost 2 times as tall. Yield still wasn't great though.)

As far as the highs and tastes on each pheno:

sativa pheno (weakest of all of them, i'd give it a 5 for potency, but decent taste i guess. High didn't last long at all compared to most strains)

purple pheno (only a tiny bit more potent than the sativa pheno, i'd give it a 6 for potency. Taste wasn't bad...infact there was almost no taste. I like to atleast have some type of flavor in my weed. Especially since i use a vape alot. Length of high was the only thing that was decent other than the color lol. But even on this pheno i wasn't impressd with the length of the high)

Indica Pheno (decent potency, but shortest high of all. Length of high was maybe an hour, or a little over. The taste was pretty bad also, very harsh and bitter taste. I like a harsh hashy/earthy type hit...but this taste wasn't pleasant at all.)

I didn't like GH's version very much either though. I'm sure alot of people like this strain, but i can think of much better strains. Obviously they will cost more, but especially with awesome breeders like soma, rez, chimera, BS from SOL, etc. you know the price is damn worth it. I'm sure the taste could have been slightly better now that i use organic nutrients only, but i did a proper flush and have had chemically grown plants with great tastes when flushed properly.

Don't get me wrong, nirvana strains aren't bad for the money. But i don't think your going to get the breeding effort put into the strains as you would with the better breeders like listed above. I grew 3 different indicas from them and they all varied wildly from sativa leaning purple phenos all the way to pure indica phenos. There strains are more or less like getting a mystery mix. It's also funny that i have seen examples of almost all of their strains turning purple, when alot of the real versions are never seen with purple genes.

I'd recommend spending just a little more money once you think your comfortable with your growing skills and environment (i'm sure most of you have been growing a long time though). For example i got 12 blockhead seeds for $52. Blockhead has an amazing high, taste, and alot of the phenos yield very well. It is also common for alot of the phenos to turn purple/red which seems to have an effect on the taste.

My Nirvana White Rhino Keeper

The White Rhino is certainly one of Nirvana's better/more consistent offerings
From three fairly similar females, I chose this one which I think I got lucky with because it had the best high AND yeild.

They have consistant offerings, but yet your buds are very airy, leafy, and tall which most likely means they have a decent amount of sativa in them. Nirvana advertises WR as 80-90% indica. But i've had phenos varying from mostly sativa to pure indica...that isn't consistant at all.

Your buds look below average (no offense). Low resin buildup, airy buds, leafy, and the yield looks pretty bad also. My WR came out a ton better, but still didn't stand up to par with alot of the "elite" strains i've tried (talking clones AND seed strains)

These are pics of the purple and indica leaning pheno. Most of the pics were taken while the bud was wet/somewhat wet. There is also a pic that shows all of the plants together, and you can see the yield size from all of them.

Agree - WR is excellent and works outdoors too even in northen EU.
One gotta love it :bigeye:
Peace and merry xmas :joint:

Nirvana's Rhino is a great plant indeed. I've seen many different phenos as if you go through and look through the pages almost everyone's Nirvana WR looks different, but none are bad!

Heres My White Rhino from nirvana.

Day 29 flower. Under a 150w HPS and some t-8 flouros. I'm using FoxFarm Ocean forest with D-lime for Mg and pH ballance + added vermiculite for drainage, and their nutrient line up including the water solubles, also some Advanced nutriet products like carbo load and Dr. H Big bud. Looking into getting some Sweet for the finnish!

I got a lovely one that turns full on purple with colder temps. Warmer temps leave it with purple undertones. Smells very berryish, skunky berryish. Super potent. Only keeper of the 10 pack. All the others hermed or made funny seedsacks with half formed seeds...

nice btw!
