Nirvana seeds classic strains

Hi all, I want to start a thread about nirvana seeds, over the years they've put out some cracking strains, albeit, knockoffs. But quite often people have found absolute gems. I'm interested to hear people's experiences with some of the classic strains they use to offer. Particularly the regs.

Had some great grows with their seed , White Rhino and Top44 produced a couple of decade keepers that i regret loseing.
They were the only seed sold way back in hippy infested new age shops in arcades , in a box on the counter by the till.
Not the best germ rates but 12 - 15 seed was usual for ten quid or less , never failed to find something good but often very varied as you would expect.

The rhino however were like clones by luck or breeding.

Pure Power Plant and Hawaii Maui Waui I still have in seed form of Nirvana lines I purchased in 2007. I grew them outdoors in 2008. Great plants, I remember in those days people shat on Nirvana as cheap and always bitching about how Mau had his special male skunk which he used on everything. Funny how so many years later they are still around albeit not ran by Mau anymore.

I liked the strains so much that I pollen chucked them and kept them to this day. I can't say anything about the new recent stock as I haven't tried it, but I liked their stuff back in the day.

@foomar Topp44 and white rhino are still around, wonder if they are as good now as back then

Never had a problem with the seeds from them. Plants are also good, my first (overall) was White Rhino, so im maybe biased on those. Bubblelicious and Master Kush are my faves from them together with the Rhino.
Is bubblelicious a pure bubblegum strain or outcrossed? Read great things about it over the years. Not sure on the back story for this strain

Meanwhile they shut down the regular seeds, maybe there will come the time where people start bitching about that too :ROFLMAO:

That's me, I'm bitching about it - I really wanted their Northern Lights to f2 and breed with but had to settle for a backcross using an NL9 father from sagarmatha, they're cooking now.

Haven't tried any bud yet obviously, but the plants grow well, very easy going, not overpowering in smell, uniform and the first could come down now at 8 weeks, but seeds need to go to 10.

I've also got their maui wowie regs that I'll pop at some point, looking for a rare tropical pheno that seems interesting.

I get why they went all fem from a business perspective, but they were the last bank holding some of these lines in a reliable form. People didn't just recommend them because of price, a lot of the other banks were holding bunk and nirvana's f2s were the closest you could get to the long lost originals.

I don't get it. All sold out, they can't claim they weren't selling..

Aye but we don't know how long they were holding stock, they've never dated the packs. Could be they just had a backlog of regs and waited till they were gone. To sack them off you have to imagine they were selling at least triple the amount of fems and then autos on top, otherwise it would just be lost sales.

Plus the people that buy regs tend to either breed their own like me, or select one clone mum and no buy any more packs. The fem market is reliable, regular sales to folk that don't clone and newbies who want it easy.

I dont know. Seedfinder says its a Bubblegum. Nirvana itself nowadays says for the fem seeds, that they crossed there best Skunks to create Bubblelicious and name them as "Big Bud x Skunk #5" further in the description. All i can tell is, that they really smell like sweet bubblegum, i was happy with them. At some point i bought the Serious Seeds Bubblegum too, but cant compare because they are still in the freezer. Plan was to do a side by side and select a mother... someday 😅

So I managed to pick up the following in regs

California orange
Northern lights
Jock horror
Super Silver haze
Bubblelicious
Master kush
Skunk#1
White widow

80 seeds for 150, not far off what you pay for 1 pack these days

I've got high hopes for the ssh and the skunk, I'm hoping it's the old skunk1 I used to get back in the early 90s.

I've got an old mate in his early 60s, still says the best smoke he ever had back I the day was orange bud, not for potency, but the super pleasant effects

Id bet any money that the fems they sell now are the same white label stuff from Spain everyone else is selling.
I think it standard practice breeders to sub out the breeding work to growers in Spain. I even think serious seeds do it ging off of a reply I got in an email
