Nirvana ja tulli/merenkulku

Hei,

Unfortunately I'm not a native Finn and my Finnish is not very good so I'm posting this in English. I hope you understand. :)

I would like to hear about ordering from Nirvana to Helsinki. I am considering ordering a 10-packet of seeds from them, however I'm concerned about the quality of the "stealth" shipping and customs (Tulli) finding them.

Has anyone ordered from them recently? What was your experience? Could anyone point me to the relevant section of the legal code, is there anything mentioned about seeds?

Kiitos! :thank you:

Seeds are legal in Finland, but growing them (or intending to grow them) is illegal.

Best bet is to ship the seeds to a safe address, because even with stealth packaging Tulli may find out what's inside. They scan everything that comes in. :2cents:

This is good to know. Would you have a link to the legal code. I'm just interested to try to read what it says about Cannabis. It would be nice to know what is considered "possessing seeds (legal)" and "intending to grow (illegal.)"

Unfortunately I don't have another address where I could ship the seeds... Have you ordered from Nirvana (or another seed bank) to Finland? Did you get your seeds without problems?

Thanks for the quick reply! :)

I have ordered other kinds of seeds coming from Amsterdam previously and they made it through Tulli fine. These were not Cannabis seeds, but still would be illegal plants to grow.

Perhaps I'm just being too paranoid, but it would be nice to hear about any experiences (good and bad) ordering Cannabis seeds. :)

I ordered to my home (when I was young and stupid :dunno:) from Greenhouse Seeds and had no problems. My friend did the same, and the cops came 2 months later.

Got any friends moving out of Finland in the near future?

Unfortunately no... and isn't the golden rule "tell no one." :)

I guess the cops may have shown up expecting to get a bust for growing. Since seeds themselves are legal, I assume they couldn't just knock on your door the next day and bust you for having seeds sitting in a container somewhere. Instead they would wait for you to either germinate the seeds (intent to grow) or have your grow up and running and bust you for that.

I hope your friend didn't get it too bad. :(

Never got em started

But yeah, it's a shitty thing here. People have been stopped coming out of growshops and having their purchases AND homes searched, just for visiting a 'hydro' store.

Never had problems with customs, some packets never came, but i put that on the disgruntled postal workers stealing my cash or sumtin..
Always used a safe addy tho, and i would recommend you getting one before ordering seeds.

I guess it would be okay to order then, as long as I wait several months after the arrival of the seeds. Just to be safe.

The other option is to take a trip to Amsterdam and pick some up in-person but I think going through airport security would be worse than the checking done on postal mail. Now they have those privacy invading full-body scanners. Maybe in another 10 years we'll be forced to consent to an actual strip-search instead of a virtual strip-search every time one wants to visit another country.

You're totally right. The situation here is terrible. Amsterdam has it very good compared to us.

Maybe those ones got lost in the mail (happens sometimes without tracking) or the shipping guy at the seed bank forgot your order or something...

Yeah, I wish I had another address where I could send them, but unfortunately I don't.

I wonder about using a fake name on the shipping address is something to consider? I could claim "That is not my name. I didn't order those. Someone must have used a wrong address." Even I think that would sound a bit weak to a police/customs officer though.

Fake surname might confuse the Finnish post.. But u might try different 1st name and claim him to be your evil twin brother or sumtin :)

In general, if u get busted for whatever in Finland: Deny everything, even if caught red handed. You might do more time in the slammer during the investigation, but the courts believe some off the wall shit here, from my personal experience :)

Hei Pajari-P,

:thank you:

Hei Pajari-P,

I tried to read your message but online translation is very bad. I guess you are saying that using another name would not allow me to pickup the package from the post office, if the package is too big to fit inside my mail box.

I believe the post office only asks to see your identification card when something is sent via registered or tracked mail but I am not certain.

Thanks for your reply and I hope I managed to read it okay. :thank you:

I must shamely admit that I'm one of those fools who have ordered stuff to my own address with my own name, never got busted or anything over the years. But there's always chance of misfortune like with people who got busted for just visiting viherpeukku growstore.

And even with poste restante, they still can check the owner of it..you.

I'm not sure how I would go about setting that up in Finland... but,

And added that he would be more nervous about picking up the package from the post, than have it delivered to where he resides.

I would be nervous having to visit the post office for pickup too. I think delivery to your own address would not require this assuming the envelope/box fits through the mail slot.

Poste restante doesn't need any setting up, and you can use a nickname. You won't have to prove your identity for regular letters (as opposed to registered).

I should add that I don't know whether they ask for an id if you use a real person's name, but if you ask in your post office that are there any Poste Restante letters for the pseudonym Mickey Mouse, they don't require you to prove that you actually are Mickey Mouse.
