She's got a great voice, and I can't deny her talent. However most of her songs aren't up to my taste. Pretty good cover of a jazz classic though.

And I concur, if I met her in an alley back when she was rocking the blonde mullet thing I'd be apt to shit myself.

never heard of her before....sounds, and looks, interesting. Her voice kinda reminds me of Cindi Lauper.

I have always loved Nina... Since the heard "African Reggae," then when I saw her live... She was wearing a sort of loincloth, with a monster's hairy face on it, and she had it for my first-date Christian Chica, staring at her the whole show, as if she wanted to eat my friend...!

Yesssss. I will never forget that show. Absolutely Classic.

The reason that no one has heard of her here, is the age differences on IC. Also, she was a fringe artist, by Amerikan terms fer shure, and Amerikans (I am one, but dig deep) often look no further than the typical classic painfully-commercial Rock radio station...

Nina never made it there..!

Gonna go listen to the trax now... Thanks, Dude.

gosh so beautiful, and terrifying simultaneously... GREAT FOTES...> My fave is the B & W pic with the eye makeup... YUMMMM, am I stuck in the eighties, sort of. lol

NINA NINA.. ! I laughed for years how some people confused super-creative and intense Nina Hagen with the German Commercial Songster-ess who sung "99 Luftballoons."

Hi folks
I'm a fan since my 6 years, when she released her first record with "automobil'
'du hast den farbfilm fergessen, mein mickael' :) In the GRD :)
Last time i saw her in Paris (2/3 years ago) she was doing some kind of krichna acoustic show with just an harmonium, wasn't that great, but i have huge memories from past shows, espeacially that tour in (hum well, redfish memory) +/- 1986 when Lene Lovich was debuting the show as a guest star
I still think her latest albums aren't really interresting, i miss the creativity she had when she recorded "NUNSEXMONKROCK" :)

African Reggae nominated as her 2nd best song.

Just love the drum beats mixed with the funky bass and synth in the background.

Cheers,
SH
