Proclamation

All self recognised Knights Hemplar and Dharma Farmers are called on a Religious Crusade to Nimbin, home of the Church of the Holy Smoke, to all meet there on the First Weekend in May, in the Year Sixteen of our MardiGrass, to participate in all the Sacred Ceremonies of the Holy Smoke, and smoke the Pipes of Peace.

It is Thirty Nine Years since the Death of Hippie in San Francisco; followed by the Resurrection of his Spirit in a thousand smiling faces. That Smile spread through the Sandstone Nations in a Decade of Optimism. Since then the Fog of Mammon has spread. Still we perform the Ceremonies and remember the Martyrs imprisoned for their private observances.

Make your way past the gathering Orcs. Come to the Aquarian Shrine. Celebrate with Herb and Friends. Pay Homage to the Bountiful Seed. Debate, Discuss, Learn and Socialise. Compete in the Hemp Olympix or Nimbin Cannabis Cup. March in the Anti Prohibition Procession. Be peacefully free. Make your mark in the Book of MardiGrass.

Of course, we expect exhemplary behaviour from our pilgrims. Good heart to you all.

The Ganja Faeries had been a part of Mardi Grass since day 1, almost 20 years ago. The Ganja Faeries are the light spirit of the herb, the essential humour of indulging in it, the cheeky and naughty side, if you like. They’re the ones who tickle your funny bone and make you laugh, and dance with you awhile along your way in life, then appear again in your dreams. They share a collective wisdom of living with cannabis. They help you to remember that the herb is healing in many wonderful ways and that the drug laws are stupid.

It's 8 years since I left Lismore and my wonderful days into Uki and Nimbin and friends at Tuntable Greens and lots of great free giving and community.

I left because the Police presence became unbearable, using sniffer dogs on everyone and anyone, public searches and degradations.

The Mardi Grass Festival was for me always a joyous and bliss ball filled day, I miss the power of "The Combi Convoy" as we claim the road and trek the short ride among rolling hills, in lushest greenest of temperate Northern NSW.

Nimbin is an amazing collection of peoples, and a very transient portion of the population, that may frequent other "hippy-towns" all over the world. The peoples of the area must have overcome many adversities to remain strong.

I look forward to a roadtrip, maybe this May I'll go visit old friends and check Mardi Garss again.

The Embassy is really cool. The cow paddocks are alive with psychoactives too

Nimbin sucks now. You can get better buds cheaper at High society. Or any small time kid around town. Its a fair drive down but the narcs and the road blocks are just a waste of time. Greedy folks that will sell you shit as they smile in your eyes. Hippie ideals have given way to the rule hunger in humanity.
