nicest strain you've smoked (and why?)

So I read through the strongest strains you've smoke thread.

It occurred to me that is the kind of thing I would have asked when I was in my 20s. Now that I'm a lot older I am not so much interested in strength, but more in the overall effect, and how a strain makes you feel? Of course strength is still a factor. What I guess I don't want these days is to feel uncomfortably paranoid, jittery, or too stoned to get off the couch.

My favourite smoke was a Lao, smoked in Laung Prababang, Lao.
It was an instantly uplifting high that just went up and up. Utter bliss and no paranoia. Kind of ironic as having spent money on seeds for the last 15 years or so haven't come accross anything anywhere near as good through seedbanks.

When I was younger I loved thai stick. It was very trippy, could cause paranoia but in a weirdly pleasant way, like the feeling you get at the top of a rollercoaster. Not sure how I would cope with it these days.

Honorable mentions to seeds I have bought and liked:
Jack Herer, NL5x haze, NYCDeisel. blueberry and various crosses. OG Kush is nice for an indica. None of these strains caused me paranoia and all were interesting in some way. Also ace OT Haze is great but not very strong.

I grew Ace's malawi and while it was strong not my type of high. Preferred their OT haze.

For me it's a toss up between Durban Poison I got in the early 00's and an unknown strain. The unknown was some stuff a friend of mines uncle brought a qp back from Hawaii and my friend must have pinched an ounce worth over the course of a week.

For me the Durban was just a clear up high that I could smoke and smoke and just get higher and higher. The Hawaiian was the most euphoric, almost mdma like high I have ever gotten from cannabis.

Almost forgot to mention the Hawaiian was from the summer of 99

Nicest was a no name airy schwaggy looking Sativa when I was 19. I was gifted a small bud from an family friend of an older generation. Uplifting, euphoric, mood and sense elevating happy weed. All in the head, overall mild very comfortable. The high only lasted 20-30min and once it was over you were exactly where you were before you started no weed hangover, tiredness or lingering after effects. Like you say pure bliss.

I actually have some GN Lao Luang Prabang going now to see if I can find something similar.

J-Icky, I have almost bought the durban poison on a few occasions. Sounds like a great smoke.

Columbo, i bought half a pack of gypsy's GN Laoung Prabang after my experience. I only got one to sprout. It took forever to finish. My fault as I had only grown sativa's outdoors before. I gave it 11.5 hours but it just went into limbo and wouldn't finish until it was cut to below 11. Very stringy jungle weed. Smelt like hay with a bit of lemon/ lemongrass? It was good, get things done pot. Not anywhere what I had in Lao, though. Still worth trying, just expect it to never finish and tiny yeild.

I crossed her with the only male I had at the time, crocketts tangei. And I was smoking this cross as I made the original thread. It's good pot but to me, no cigar, no holy grail. Quite good though.

Intersting reply's have been about sativas! Happy to hear an indica report too.

Jamaican lambs and kingsbread grown by farmers who love the plant not cash and ho's! This was in 79'! In Merika all i see is greed and younger "growers" with an ignorance is bliss lifestyle going outa their ways to ruin genetics by bottlenecking the varietals potential, or hoarding what they believe is a gift.
Id adore to try this lao you describe! If it isnt relaxing and enjoyable why bother right?
