Thanks for asking TanzanianMagic,

We are going to start a few SE Asian sativa preservation projects in 2020, mainly with Cambodian and Laotian sativas, but not with pure Vietnameses.

After that, I would like to work next on the preservation of some Central American sativas, hopefully then we can also work with the Nicaraguan sativa too. I will keep you all updated with progresses.

Hi Dubi,

That's awesome. I know you guys already grew the Vietnam Black, crossed with the Vietnam x Thai, and now it's available as Orient Express with China Yunnan.

However, the world needs at least one pure Vietnamese, tropical, long flowering, narrow leaf, trippy sativa. :)

The landrace strains are where the real genetic diversity still is, in my opinion.

Cheers

and how you determine if they are real deal? probably you mean when they are Plants Show up isolated, not inside the Kush-Cluster.. .
but do i need phylos for that?

i think phylos could be interesting with the possibility to apply filters. filter geographical regions out and only compare These. compare Thais ONLY that way i have a Line, and i could try see Paterns

1. If they show up in the landrace or green section, they're the real deal.

2. If for instance their Tanzanian A and B sample cluster with other African samples, and say Khandwa from India, that's extremely interesting - their Tanzanian C sample clusters with various Chemdog strains. If their Lambsbread 60/70 clusters with Jamaica Ganja and lots of Colombian strains, that makes a lot of sense because of the geographic proximity between Jamaica and Colombia.

3. Do you need Phylos for that? Yes, there is no other way. For instance, the Maui Wowies turn out to be Kush and Afghani type strains.

Maybe one day there will be DIY home testkit for the chemovar of the seeds you're growing, which will revolutionize growing and put breeding for true breeding chemovars within the realm of possibility of most people.

it's also like asking if you need a dna test, the kind for proving pregnancy or the parents of a child or suspect of a crime, to name cultivars varieties of cannabis almost like people, when most people don't get this test. almost like an advertisement for humans to get a dna test. all these private companies all over the states family members and copy cat companies doing the same thing advertising to buy a dna test on human people. oranges and tangerines do not have a dna test, to explain which is a kumquat and which is a tangerine or meyer lemon. so making up this thing for cannabis is strange as is to name names and print money tags on clones..
