hi folks,
I have two alternative plans for my setup of a NGB style flowering cabinet and poly sheeting veg chamber. The veg chamber will sit under a shelf, and the dresser will go right next to the shelf.
Flowering chamber:
Internal dimensions- 14” deep (12” floor space, slightly more above floor level)
36” wide
33” tall
250w cool tube
Fan speed controller intake and exhaust
250m3 inline fan, nice and quiet with speed controller
Carbon filter (large size, about 11” in diam
Biox bizz organic nutrients
Alga mic bio bix
Some nice soil mix from hydro store (all soil, organic grow)
(I am actually stil to decide on strain, but I have one armagdeddon clone (quite developed) and a maple leaf indica at very earlier stage of revegging. advice on strains for this type of setup would be appreciated)
Veg chamber
32” tall
25” wide
14” deep
200w blue envirolite
Pc fan
That’s it
However, I have a second inline fan, smaller than the other, and its rated at 160 (it’s a td—160 inline fan)
The larger fan, and the larger carbon filter, take up too much width and height if they are positioned at the top of the flowering boxx (as recommended by the manual and growshop people). I can instead put the carbon filter in the corner of the room, which would take up floor space. That would leave me with this:
Carb filt > fan > ducting> cool tube >ducting> exhaust
But as I say, I don’t have much floor space. I’m going to scrog, with the pvc pipe frames dettailed on this site. Still, am I right I thinkng more floor space, = more plants, more yield? Would this outweigh the disadvantasges of ventiating frm the side rather than the top?
Alternatively, I could put the large carbon filter and fan in the veg chamber, leaving more space in the cab. Im not srure if my 250w cool tube (about 50cm long) will have a large eough light cover for the floor space if so. Will it?
Also, the ‘stealth’ aspect of the NGB style dresser might be compromised if I have to run ducting out of the side of the dresser and into the veg chamber, however the veg chamber is adjacent to the dresser and perhaps witrh a bit of extra ducting it might be able to strethch when I have to pull the dresser out (its rear doors)
So, with the large fan and filter in the veg chamber, I would have the smalll carobn filter (carb might rneed replacning as it’s a bit old), smaller inline fan and then the cool tube, leading to the larger filter :
Sml. Carb filt (6")> small inline fan (6") >vent reducer> 5" ducting > 5" cool tube >5" ducting> 5" large fan > 5" large carb filter
I could then put he small carb filt and fan at the top of the dresser, and have oth fans wired up the the spped controller.
It’s a tempt comntrolled speed controller, and has one intake control and one outake. Would I set the smaller fan to the intake, and the alrger to the outake, in the model just above? Would having the extra fan be worthwhile, and would it reduce the noise./resistance over all? Would having a carb filter at each end be a good improvement, or increase drag/noise? whats the minimum sizeintake, twice the size of the exhaust (which is 5")? im going to use bends of pvc pipe for the intake, as detailed on countless threads that have proved so helpful in getting me to this stage.
I should conclude, im looking to provide enough for myself to smoke from all of this, and I estimate I could get by on about ½ oz to an 1oz a week (maybe less if need be). Is this fesible?
p.s. apologies for reposting some stuff i have asked earlier
