Next Grow 1800watt Krusty bucket design 18-27 plants take a look

Ahoy there IC'ers I am planning my next grow! :jump: yippie :jump:

The grow wont take place till April but I couldn't wait that long to share it with you. I will be converting a bedroom into my growroom, it measures out at 11x10 Ft. Out of this space I will have sectioned off 3 growing areas each will hold 6-9 flowering plants under a 600w Digital HPS.

Here is a quickly made diagram to show you guys what I mean:

I will be growing in Krusty buckets! hehe, 1st time 2!! I wont be looking to grow big trees I just really like the system and think that I can produce alot of bud! For those of you that don't know what the inside of a krusty bucket looks like, then look below:p

I'm going to have a 30W Air compressor at 2850 LPH pumping lots of air to 6 plants!! Man their going to have alot of air from this pump!! Thats what I want I want as much air in them buckets as I can possibly get and hopefully this will give me explosive growth rates! oh and nice big green frosty budz, yall know wat I'm talkin about!!

If any of u have any questions about the system please be my guest:D

Method
I also want to do a scrog on this grow just to pull the max out the girlz!! I'm unsure if I should grow 6 or 9 plants in the space I have, what do you ICers think?

Strain:
Two strains again to max the yield
Pot of Gold
Double Dutch
If any of yall have grown any of these strains before it would be good to hear from ya, like to know growth charaistics, yield, high, if they are suitable for topping?? anything really they look like big producers to me. :rasta: :rasta:

To start off I'll be growing all 12 POG and all 10 DD seeds in soil when they get big enough I'll keep the 2 best females POG and 2 Best females of DD and keep these for mother plants! And I'm hoping I will have an extra few females to flower:p

When they have flowered I'm going to have cuttings only going into the krusty buckets as with scrog its better to know that you don't have a bunch of males to untengle out of the wire and all the girlz will grow hopefully the same as their mother :muahaha:

Nutrients
Also unsure what to do hear I'm thinking about AN but not sure if its worth it? what do you guys think? I think GH can offer me just as good results but I am looking to try AN :S help?? lol

Man this feels great I cant wait to get started!! I will be hoping to yield between 18-21 Ounces from each flowering pod. I know thats alot of bud for a 600 watt to give, 21 ounces would be nearly 1 gram per watt, but it has been done in the past!! And it will be done again!

So get stuck in people and tell me what you think, give advice and ask questions!

Later people

Thanks guys

looks like fun, i have a question about the krusty bucket.
is it hydroponic? you mentioned soil so maybe i'm being dumb.
the pictures you had were so small i couldnt see how it worked.
anyhow good luck on the grow, too bad its so far away yet! be cool

my bad! all i had to do was click on the image and i could see it fine. sorry!

Hey sloopy how the hell are ya? yea its gonna be alot of fun :D
Yes the krusty buckets are 100% hydroponic, I'm going to be keepin my mother plants in soil and add clones into the buckets, not sure about the pictures but they look gr8 2 me, anyone else have this problem?

Cummon ppl I need you help :p lol I know there are experienced growers reading this lol
Later

why not make one large grow area instead of three sections?...i can read your diagram just fine...click on the picture to blow it up if you cant see it grizzer

I've used the system quite a few times with some hits and some misses. There are certainly more efficient systems out there especially for the plant numbers that you are trying to use. Krusty buckets were built to support 2-3 pound trees!! 1 plant per light, using vertical lighting and super long veg times. Speaking from experience (I've done about 5 Krusty runs) I'd go with a more forgiving system. DIY Ebb and Flow buckets are a great choice. You can even modify them a bit and add airstones to the bottom of each bucket if you like the extra Dissolved Oxygen. On another site I saw a modified Waterfarm system that was the absolute TRUTH!! It uses a high flow water pump to create dissolved oxygen instead of large air pumps. I can dig up a link If you'd like.

Now If you're dead set on running a Krusty setup, here are some things for you to consider.

1) Buy a GOOD water chiller: the chiller is key in bucket setups since the roots will be submerged in water. Keep temps 68-72
2) Lower your plant count: 6-9 buckets is waaayy too many under one 600w light. Go with about 4
3) Get a serious air pump: a 30w pump will not generate enough pressure to give you the extreme air that you need, especially if you are planning to use soaker hose.
4) Down size your buckets: you could get away with using 3.5 gallon buckets since you're gonna have smaller plants. The plants don't really EXPLOAD until the roots hit the bottom bucket using 5 gallon buckets you'd be vegging forever for the roots to reach the bottom
5) Don't partition the room: It will be a major pain the ass trying to control the environment in 3 separate rooms. How do you plan to control heat and humidity?? An exhaust fan for each separate room?? Sounds like a lot of work and equipment to buy...Are you prepared for all of that?? you're also gonna have to elevate the buckets for the water to return to the reservoir too, makes it tough to maneuver around the room

IMHO I'd go with a simple Ebb and Flow, no need for a chiller, plants grow as healthy and fast as any other system and there is plenty of info on this site if you encountered any problems. Don't get me wrong when a Krusty system is done right its a force to be reckoned with, however it is one of the toughest systems to dial in properly.

Good Luck Bro

Word, straight up the only reason that system is any good is the crazy amount of what he called "nutrient film" that the blower and soaker hose created. BTW those hoses are problematic and clog pretty often. If you look up, Chosen had some hose that didn't clog up, I don't remember where.

Look let me put it this way, the amount of trouble that system is, isn't worth the minor gains you MIGHT get from it.

Go with an Ebb n' grow, higher plant count, easy system to manage; set and forget.

I'm also morally obligated to suggest using organics as its better for the planet and your overall environment. :D
