Newbie looking for advise

Hello and welcome to my new journey. Haven’t grown in about 15 years, and a lot has changed. Been doing my research but looking for opinions as well. I’m looking to grow 4 ounces a month for personal and family. Need advice how to achieve my goal without going overboard. Looking to grow in a 4•4•7 ft tent for flower and do a perpetual harvest. I would have a separate veg box as well. The veg box I will make myself. So depending on how many I need to keep going at a time will depend on it’s size etc... Always have grown in dirt but am super curious on hydro. Been doing a lot of research on here, and really appreciate people sharing what they know. Looking to stay under $1000 dollars. $1000. Do you have the tent?

I tried perpetual in a tent with PPKs, not enough room in there for my fat ass to move around in, so I ditched the idea.

For perpetual, you'll probably clone, so you have to set up a veg and a cloning area. 4oz/month is doable with the right strain.
Growing in dirt is the cheapest way to go. There's seed costs. You'll need to have a strain that is a producer and guessing you want top quality, that doesnt come in the first run.. $1000 will get you started.

Tent, lights, ballasts, hoods and bulbs, battery backups, humidifier&dehumidifier, PH&PPM meters. Is your local water cleanish (below 200PPMs) or are you going to go RO water + nutes (go with dry/powder nutes). Any way you go, you'll have to runem about 120 days from seed no mater what you do for your first grow or 100 days with clones after your first go, cloning your girls as they veg or start to bloom.

I run full term about 100days/run with veg and bloom multi-croping usually 4 different strains with similar profiles and requirements. In those 3 months, w 4 different strains an usually end up with about a pound. Some times 12oz, some times 24oz. I like variety in my head profile.. 1 strain gets boring. Do the math.
