Newbie Indoor Grow Part Duex

Have grown a couple time outside and have gotten some decent buds. Got a 4x4 grow tent setup to grow year round and tried my hand in some AF in coir and made a lot of rookie mistakes (posted about it in intro). Plants ended up all dwarf and ended it. Gonna try again and with some regular seeds.

Buddy gave me some Biesel x Skunk and Don Schula x Trxxx seeds. Just put them in some small solo cups I drilled some drainage holes in with some Burpee seed starter mix. Soaked them and put them on a heat pad and a lower temp setting.

Planning on growing them in coir. Went back and forth looking at posts on here for hours, but decided to try it again even though I got owned last time. Figured I have all the shit, might as well not waste it and learn how to do it from posts around here.

Once these sprout, gonna throw them under my seed starter light.

Started getting some sprouts this week. The Biesel x Skunk all sprouted and Don Schula x Trxxx seeds are just stating to try and come up. I got them under my seed starter light on the lowest power light setting for 18 hours a day. They are looking a little leggy. So I am gonna turn up the power to the next setting. Just giving them plain tap water for now that I let sit for 24 hours from a spray bottle giving it a shake before I spray. I live near Chicago and the PH is around 6. I have Canna A and B that I will start the feed schedule when the first true leaves show. When this happens I’ll switch to using a syringe and go 10ml while in the small solo cups. Hope this sounds like a reasonable plan?

Sounds reasonable to me. It will be interesting seeing the results using tap water from Chicago. I had too many problems using tap water and had to switch to RO or RAIN water. I'm going to ride with you for a while for that reason and thanks again friend. .

Thank you for your reply! Interesting. I have a very active sump pump since we are below the water table in the basement. I actually have it hooked up to a 330 gallon tote I use to water my outdoor garden with a transfer pump. Probably would be better to use that water.

If you don't already have a cheap EC or TDS meter you should get one. They are cheap and worth the money. That way you will always know the water quality. I use a TDS meter I paid $30 for and had it for years and it's so helpful.

Some of the seedlings were getting super leggy. I was dumb and forgot to turn off the heat mat. Also had them a bit too far away from the lights. Luckily I used the super small solo cops, so the ones that got leggy I just put them into the bigger solo cups and added some starter medium to cover the long stems. Just lightly misting the soil right now.

One of my neighbors also randomly gave me a seedling to grow for her. She takes care of my chickens when we vacation. So I will happily adopt and grow with mine. She wasn’t sure what kind it is.

You need more light exposure.

I started giving the seedlings Canna A B according to the feed schedule calculations. I gave each plant 5 ml of this mix made with tap water that sat out for 24 hours and then I shook. That was two days ago and I haven’t had to water since. Do they look yellow slightly and is this ok?

They look ok J, I can't see any yellowing. You have one plant that is very vigorous. Remember if you are unsure about something and don't know if its good or not. Just try it with one cup first before giving it to all the cups. That way you will keep from messing up. I like having extra plants for this reason.

Phew. Thanks. I am paranoid now from the last grow. The one that is bigger is a random seedling someone gave me that had a week head start. That is a very good point on doing things on one cup. Thanks again!

My plant that my neighbor gave me that was bigger, was too large for my seedling starter dome. I put it in my tent. I had all my spring vegetables plants and flowers in there too. I took all my spring plants out to cold harden them outside and left the one little weed plant in there by itself. Humidity went way down to below 40% and temp was almost 80F when I checked when I came home today. Think I cooked this poor guy a little bit? My 8 other seedlings are still a few weeks behind and in the seedling dome still at least. I turned the light intensity and put a giant bucket of water in there to increase humidity. When I had all my other spring plants in there, there was much more humidity.
