Newbie Grow Box Questions

Hi I am brand new to being signed up here on the forums, but I have read a lot on here as a guest. I actually think my mind is a little overwhelmed with every thing I have read. Any way I got a few questions about a stealth grow box. I am doing a stealth CFL grow. My question is I have two different cabinets that I can use but I only want to use one so which would be better for my purpose.

The first cabinet is some sort of dresser but its pretty weird. The measurements are 27" High by 47" Wide by 16" Deep. Here is a picture. Sorry about the messy nature of everything on top.

I was thinking of take the drawers out and just glue them back on.

The second cabinet stand straight up and has a big chamber on the bottom and a smaller chamber on top. I was thinking maybe put the fan in the smaller chamber so its in the box still and just vent out the back. The measurements for the big chamber is 55.5 High by 22" Wide by 22" Deep. The picture is at a weird angle but I could not get a shot of the entire thing easily.

I would love to grow a couple plants with one of these. I'm just not really sure which would be better. Thanks for your time.

When I was a wee grower, I took the path of gutting a chest of drawers and, as you say 'take the drawers out and just glue them back on'. This was sub optimal, to say the least, and I eventually moved on to a cab that's more like the second one you're showing. Much easier to work with, lightproof, and maintain.

My vote would be for cab #2.

Well the top three drawers are the only actual drawers. It also has a floor in side all ready. I just would like to grow more then one plant. By the way I will be using soil.

Thank you Whatsupdoc but Growbox420 that might have sold me. This cab is just to get me started. In the future I would like to build my own grow cab. McGuver'sDick I can not do both or trust me I would.
So does computer fan actually have enough power to push through the home made carbon filters. I see all sorts of opinion on this.

think you have to have 50 posts or something, and on the comp fan vent question--yes. A four inch inline fan-filter combo will be the easiest. But you can make proper ventilation from high performance comp fans and DIY carbon filters. Lemme tell ya temps in micro cabs can be a pain. VENTILATE VENTILATE VENTILATE. I have had can fan, comp fans (wich worked very well in comp and rubbermaid grows. well documented on threads here) but i end up with inline fans with carbon filter. Combo can be had for just over 100 bucks.. Good luck on you build cant wait to see you tearin them apart!
