Hey people! This is my first thread and I'm also pretty new at growing! I'm nearing the end of my first crop of auto assassins that I got as a free gift and i am quite happy with the results so far but I wreckon I could do better and there's a few things puzzling me!
The 2 assassins look NOTHING alike at all! One has very pale green and purple leaves, with very orenge trichnomes (mind my spelling) and the other one is very dark green with a few orenge but mostly crystally White trichnomes all through it! They smell identical!! Has anyone else had any experience with these?
Another thing that's blagging me is trying to lower the temperature without needing to open my cupboard door and exposing my room to ufos flying past!

I'm sorry if I have bored you but I will have pics and more questions soon, I would carry on but I am to0 baked right now!!

I'm not all that well versed in genetics, but, it is my understanding that seeds of a cross will be like the male parent, the female parent, and like both parents. It sounds like either plant is expressing traits of one or the other of it's parentage. As long as they're flowering, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You're definitely going to have to address ventilation and a basic understanding of the, "What, where, when, why, and how!" will go a long way towards solving one of the most troublesome aspects of growing in a controlled environment. If you're using fluoro's, they won't generate near the heat that HID will. But, they still generate enough heat to virtually require powered ventilation.

These will help.

Trichomes are orange? Are you sure? If so, it needs to be picked...three weeks ago!

I think you mean the pistils...1/2 inch long bottle brush looking and fuzzy, 2 to a pod.

Trichomes are the really small resin balls that cover the buds...they should be mostly cloudy...white looking...if they're amber...orange...then you've got some really strong sleeping smoke there. Go by trichomes...the real ones...to decide ripeness. Get a magnifier...40X is good.

So, um, glad you're happy with your grow, but it does sound to me too like you need to get to picking. Your grow sounds done, to me. Now, you might want to post those pics so that people can be sure. Hard to tell what you're talking about just from a few sentences. LOL

Well, all plants have some variations in them, though it is a little weird they would be so different, but if there were any differences in the environmental conditions, that would explain it.

Or, you did say that you could your auto assassins as a free gift, so are you really sure that you got two of the same things? Free stuff tends to be a little sketchy in terms of quality. Just saying.

Hope to see your pics and get you some more answers.

:tiphat:
