hydroton...is that the same as expanded clay?
yes same thing

you can run your irrigation 24/7 with hydroton and thats what I would do. you can also use a timer and do something like 3 or 4 15 minute watering during lights on, and one 15 minute during lights out.
reason you are getting multiple answers is that there are multiple ways of doing it.

I personally would treat it like an NFT set up and run the irrigation all the time.

can you maybe take a picture of the plumbing set up of your Wilma? I've never seen one up close and personal. Doesn't make my advice wrong I've run lots of drip tables, mostly with perlite/vermiculite, many hydroton runs though.

thank you for the link.

that sure shows what I wanted to see just fine.

what I wanted to see was how hard would it be to modify their set up, it has 1 drip line to each pot now. it would be easy to double that and have 2 drip lines to each pot. I keep saying drip lines I realize they are free flowing open tubes.

I've been to Atami's site a few times and looked at the trays, I'll be glad when they are more available in the US. I'd like to have a few of the 4 site trays. I like how shallow they are, with the dividers to hold the pots in place.
