Newb Grow - Bagseed

I'm not exactly sure what week they're in, i didn't mark my calender, but they seem to be doing well.




They're setup in a "stackable" shelf from Wal-Mart. They have to 42W (CFL?) bulbs, each equiv. to 150W reg bulb according to the box, and putting out something like 2700 Lumens each.




There's no exhaust fan, however the intake fan is at the back of the box behind a wall which is made of the interior shelf of this cabinet, it works I think. Exhausting is out the gaps in the cabinet.




There's eight(8) plants total, one is in a 20 oz. pepsi bottle due to the lack of room for another pot in the grow space. This is alright for now, I think?

sure you can keep small plants alive with those lights, but if you really want to yield something i advise you to get a hps light and start upgrading your growing equipment

Oops, I was wrong on my lights, sorry!

There's two(2) T4 Bulbs @ 42 Watts each(2700 Lumens per),
and there's also an 18" "Sunshine" F15T8 Bulb @ 15 Watts (620 Lumens).

Hope that changes my situation some, or should I get more hardware asap?

I use those for veg stages they are fine but i would get way more than 2 for your 8 plants i used 2 of those on one plant w/ a reflecter thingy that i screwed the lights into. They come in two different forms one has more blue light and one w/ more red light i would use both those bulbs on each plant, then in flowering if you arn't going to upgrade take the blue light out and replace it w/ another that has the red spectrum so you got 2 for flower.

But in reality you can grow w/ the lights you have you just will only prolly get a half of dried bud from each plant if that.

edit: These are the lights they sell at wal-mart because thats what im referring to, because those look just like 'em.

Its a good start, I love a bagseed plant they can be amazing (mine was) and I've seen some other great result too.

Phantom i agree w/ you on that. My bagseed turned out to be some of the best weed ive smoked when grown right.

What lights did you use for that bud cuz there is no way Aiden can get that nice of colas w/ the current light situation.

Props to you aiden, plants look good, and your set up is a hell of alot better than mine was when i tried my first time you should invest in more of those lights though. They produce zero heat so you can keep 'em 4 inches above the top of your plant and you can put some on the sides of your growroom to get all the lower leaves light, then you will be gettin some nice colas.

DK - Thanks. They'll definately get more lights. I really like these CFL's i have, and the two I've got are the red spectrum I believe. Would it be good enough to get a third red spectrum light and add three more of the same bulb except blue? Could I expect descent results or should I invest in an HPS also?

Thanks for the comments on my setup, it's nice to know I'm a step in the right direction.

Nice setup there man. If it were me, I'd invest in the HPS for your flower...but then again, I'm on my first grow, too!

Well what i do i get the double sockets so i can put 2 bulbs under the reflector one red one blue. Once you decide to stop veging and flower just make it 2 reds. This is for each plant though i also really suggest side lights to get the undergrowth unless your just goin to cuz the lower branches off.

AidenFox: Looks like you've been bitten by the green bug. As to your lighting situation, check out the micro growers forum, many people have pulled a good harvest with similar lighting. its also a good place to work on your ventilation. you'd do better to use your one fan as an exhaust and make your cabinet negative pressure. That being said, CFLs are only good for small crops in small spaces, as in 1-4 plants. If all of your plants were to turn out to be female, you'd be wanting an HID setup to flower them. Just do a little snooping around the forums and you'll find that there's a million ways to grow our favorite plant

definitely try to get an HPS if you wanna flower more than 1.....might be able to use more CFL's if flowering 2.....but it would have to be small.

anyway....looking good so far, and i feel ya on the lack of space thing(although mine is more of a lack of containers thing)

i just harvest my first bagseed grow under all cfls and it actually ended up pretty good. not quite the results you would get with an hps but still pretty good. i yielded a little bit over an ounce













if you do stick with cfl's that when you flower get the ones that spectrum's are between 2000k-3000k most of the time there 2700k

judging by the look of things...you'd probably only need to veg for 2 weeks to get the full potential from those plants in those size containters. veg for 2 weeks whatever light cycle fits you, and then flower, you should see

hey bro i vegged 8 plants under 3 100w cfls and they truned out great and then i threw them under a 400w MH that i purchest a few years ago from an elctrical supply store cheaper then you can get them from a hydro shop or online. if you do some snopping you might be able to find either that or a HPS for pretty cheap. gl my friend and nice looking plants.
