New well pump, they dumped bleach in the well

So I had a new well pump installed and they dumped bleach in the well to take care of any bacteria etc. that may have been rustled up in the process. Is there any way I can still use this water? I grow in FFOF and use Old Age nutrients if that helps.

Thanks in advance guys and gals

Look up shocking the well. Run it into your pumps/pipes over night and leave it. Next day run it out of a garden hose away from the well and setptic tank. Run it till you can't smell the bleach anymore or just a little. It should be fine after that... I wouldn't drink it for a week though.

Ok cool. I've been filling buckets and letting them sit for 24 or more hours in hopes it wouldn't harm my plants. I generally go through at least 5-10 gallons a day so bringing it home bottled would not only be a chore but an expensive and inconvenient one at that.

Thanks much Devil

Your doing it right with the bucket thing, if you want to oxygenate it and speed up the process your plants would love a bubbler in the buckets. Growing up my ol man used to dump bleach in the well when it got low in the summer, we never got sick. I am a bit mental now but I feel better everyday ;)

Peace

Perfect, so 24 hours is sufficient? I don't mind doing it as I just re-fill a bucket every time I empty it and rotate them so I'm using the oldest one first. Sometimes they might even go 48 hours.
