new vent hose full of tiny holes?

So im setting my new grow up and just noticed there appears to be a bunch of tiny holes inside my vent hose.

Its this kind of vent hose:


When i hold it up to the light and look inside i can see the light passing trough on a whole bunch of spots, however when i hold the hose under running water with toilet paper inside it, the paper does not get wet :S

Is this normal for these kinds of hoses? should i be worried about smell leaking?

Not holes, spots where the silver came off the clear plastic, found the same thing on cheap duct, better duct work does not do that.

Any specific brand recommendations? Whatever brand my home depot sells has always done this and it irritates the piss outa me.

Get insulated.
It will quiet the place as well as keep the light out.

if using a short run, wrap some panda film around it. insulated way to go.

I already have a bunch of insulated 6" duct tucked in the attic that I should be using, I was more just wondering if there was a higher quality uninsulated reflective hose that doesn't crack and flake away like the home depot brand does. Cheap sh*t erks me.

'Cept I'm a dick who gets too stoned and doesn't google shit first. I haven't seen this style 3 ply aluminum ducting yet. I think I'll order me some. I like to keep things neat and fiberglass/mylar also annoy the piss outa me.

u have foil duct, vinyl duct, mylar duct, and semi rigid.

take your pick, they all blow for their own reasons.

steel rigid duct is probably the best with respect to durability.
