New to outdoors... couple questions for the more experienced

I've recently moved to Massachusetts (latitude 44) recently and no longer have a grow closet. What I do have are:

-a flat roof deck reached by a ladder
-a friend with some reasonably private former farmland, now kind of overgrown
-9 Satori (started from seed early May) in two gallon pots up on my roof

Satori, while extremely vigorous, finishes on the late side from what I've read and can have mold issues. Almost certainly not the best choice of strain for my situation. It's what I had.

Previously at this stage I would go 12/12 and up-pot the resulting females one last time and finish them off under a no-longer-owned 400 watt hps.

I presume that if I went up at say 4 pm each day and somehow put the plants into complete darkness they would show their gender in a couple weeks or so. If at that point I planted them at my friends, would they become confused/messed up from the suddenly longer days? Would they finish any earlier than if I just planted them all right now?

i would not try and induce flowering to determine the sex of these plants and then try and plan them in another location
/they would become totally confused and maybe even messed up!

if you planted around early may they should be around (today @6/19)
6 weeks old
if they havent started showing their pre-flowers, they will soon
just remain cool and keep watching

I agree. Don't mess them around. You'll end up with less bud if you do. Just get them in the ground as soon as you can. Try to give them good spacing which will help with mould/bud-rot at the end of the season, and a spot where they get early morning sun (as well as for as much as possible of the rest of the day).
