New Tent DIY Drip Tray Suggestions, Cooler Temps Achieved through smaller tent?

Hows it goin,
So i had a growlab tent that was 4 ft 9in x 4ft 9 in x 6-7ft tall and I could not run 1000 watts because it was too hot when i turned the ballast all the way up. I guess my fans couldnt cool it well enough because it got up to 80 degrees.. I recently got a new Gorilla Grow Tent Lite line tent that is 4ft x 4ft 6in x 6ft 7in and I am able to run 1000watts and my temps are only 71-73 degrees on the canopy..Granted I am growing short bushes so the canopy is pretty low but the tent just feels much cooler and is cooler.. Is the air flow really that much better in this tent than my old one?

Also

The new tent is noticeably smaller as my plants look a little bit more snug but my problem is, I had a drip tray setup running with my last tent and the tray is to big to fit inside the new tent..Does anyone have suggestions/pictures for a DIY runoff system for coco..I have a watering system setup fine but I need to figure out a new way to drain water instead of letting runoff run into saucers and then sucking it up with a shop vac. In my picture you can see my system slightly in my old tent, I had a tray that was elevated slightly in the back causing the water runoff from plants to run down the tray and into a bin.

Pond liner, floor drain and a bit of plywood makes a serviceable tray, a condensate pump will clear runoff as needed.

Just one idea, I'm sure others will chime in.
