New Super Cropping Technique?

Hello all. I am relatively new to the growing scene and have dabbled before and absolutely love it. I was wondering if anyone has tried super cropping roots? It doesn't have to be anything excessive just maybe some of the main shoots from a hydro type setup where root access is easy. I did do a little research before I decided to ask, and found pretty much nothing on this. I plan on getting a couple good grows in before testing it myself but when I do I will post the results.

root pruning and root scoring have been around a while. Scoring the root ball with a razor is supposed to encourage new lateral root growth.

It is not going to give you the same results as supercropping for obvious reasons but it might give you more "secondary" roots. Also might lead to infections due to the exposed open wounds or leave pieces of dead roots in the medium.

IMO, there is little need in a hydroponic setup as the roots are already directly exposed to the nutrient solution and normally have little problems with being able to uptake water & nutrients.

But I do encourage you to experiment for yourself.

ok so this round my vegs were getting rootbound in their 3 gallon pots...but i still had a few weeks till they went into flower so...

i took a drywall saw and cut the rootball in a circle around the main stem and threw out the extra coco and was left with a 1gallon rootball. transpplanted back into a 3 gallon pot with fresh coco.

It definitely stunted them for like 12 days.. but now growth is vigorous and healthy again..growth is not better than before though (except that they arent rootbound anymore.))

so it worked for what i wanted, but i would not do it to STIMULATE growth.

peace
