NEW ROOM !

I have a 8ft by 7ft room, and I what was wondering how many plants I could fit in there. I think I am going to use 3 gallon bags, with fox farm soil. I was thinking of using a 400 and a 600 watt light in there. :joint:

It's best to do 50 watts a square foot. It may be a better use of space to section it off and do a perpetual grow...or get some more watts in there.

after 2 grows of cramped quarters, all i can say is less is better. 6 would be pretty decent, you could lst them when small and introduce them to flower once they are a small bush. if u have room to build a cab for veg use the big one for flower, and add a plant every 10 days or so and keep only 6 in there, and put the 1,000w on them.

right about that size, a little bigger :D

I don't know how the room is layed out but I would section off 8X4 feet and put 2*600W hps in that space. Don't waster your light vegging so I would say throw in at least 32 plants. Veg them for a maximum of 2 weeks under flouros in small pots before you repot and throw them under the big light and give them a couple of days on 18/6 to grow some roots before you hit the flower switch.

Anyway that's just how I would do it;p I'm no expert but it's also a matter of taste - do you like having many smaller plants or do you prefer bushes?

Thank you everbody for the info, it helps. The strains I am going to use are bubblberry, bubblegum, and one cherry bomb. All clones. I was thinking of putting
them in one gallon for one week then put them into 3 gallon bags. I was thinking of topping them and growing them like a bush. THANK YOU again kinger :joint:

If you're going for a bush grow then give them some more time in the 1 gallons - they need a couple of weeks to fill those with roots. I would complete their veg cycle there and then repot and wait for new growth to show before flowering.

If you repot too soon then you risk the soil falling apart and damaging the roots.

How long do you guys think I should veg them ?
I was thinking about two weeks, then put them in three gallon bags then to flower them. Di you guys think it is a good idea? :joint:

If very well rooted and already started new growth then 2 perhaps 3 weeks might get them up there. Perhaps a smaller container than 1 gallon would be better to make sure the roots are filling it out. After transplanting to 3 gallons give them 2-3 days to get started before 12/12.

i have a 1k hps in a 5ftx7ftx8ft closet 32 plants most are in 1 gal grow bags some in 2 liter soda bottles. most of the plants where put into flower approx 16-20 inch tall now there between 2 - 4 ft with 1 close to 5 ft. 5 of the clones where transplanted from 3x3x3 inch to 1 gal and flowered almost directly afterwards they are 2 ft. for your space and the different wattage hps units you plan to use i suggest invest in some mylar. it will make your reflectivness 100 fold, a roll of 2 mm thick is 25ft long x 54 inch tall is 50$ or 50ft long for more :) but well worth the investment. just be sure to hang it wrinkle free wrinkles can hold hot spots, even a emergancy cold weather blanket from local sporting good store is cheap and reflective like mylar but much cheaper. remember your plants will stretch 2-5 times thier size when 12/12 is started indicas stretch less sativas more so keep this in mind because you 400w hps wont have the penertrating power the 600 dose or even a 1k dose. so personally i would try n flip 12/12 when plants are 12-16 inch tall i would also use 1 gal bags because your not really veggn long enough for 3 gal bags to devolop proper amount of roots. done right you'll pull 1oz per plant n/p. my clones when rooted go into 3x3x3 inch square flower containers then 10-14 days later into 2 liter soda bottles now i can flower in these get 14-21 grams per n/p but transplant to 1 gal bags after 10-14 days. once i see the new growth spurt i flip them 12/12, i like to take cuts 6 wks before needed in flower. this allows for the cuts to root and produce proper rootmass before flowering starts. with out a proper rootmass your not gonna yield near as much start out small transplant up and youll have a rootmass inside of another so on so forth. g/l

Kinger I didnt understand if this was a permanent flower room(perpetually getting cuts from outside source) or if you were splitting into a veg/flower room.My flower room is almost exactly that size 8 by 8 and I use 3 1K's to get about 50W/sq. ft.I veg my plants in a different room(clones) but veg for larger plants.Depending on phenotype I can get 25 mixed columnar and bushy to 35 or so columnar plants 4-5 ft tall in 3 gal pots.I use co2 enrichment but you always want to shoot for that 2lb per 1K yield,I didnt think it was honestly attainable but it is.You should get 1 per 1K pretty easily with a decent strain right from the start. You have to find your own "groove" so to say when it comes to plant size and numbers.I've tried more plants in 2 gal pots, fewer in 5 gal,in my case 3 gal has turned out to be the most productive.

well you either need to use more light or cut your space back a little biti would say with that light the perfect flowering room for that light would be 4x6 or you could go 4x8 and with those light i reccomend running 6 plants under each light with a month in between that way they all finish up under the 600. i think with what you have that would prob be the best bet and then in the left over space you could set up a small veggin area
