Anyone planning on attending?

This year's headliners are not as good as previous, IMO. but should still be a great time. I'd prefer to be smoking my own herb down there....but flying with the shit anymore just isnt worth it... I'm sure greens will be plenty tho.... just not as good as mine :D

I went to New Orleans with my family when I was a kid. We stayed downtown in the Marriott I think, it was a lot of fun. But I don't think I would ever want to go back.

I looked at the bands that are going to be here. I woulnd't mind seeing the Allman Brothers Band though. Same goes for George Thorogood, Van Morrison, ZZ Top, and Steely Dan.

And this John Mayer character, sigh, why is he considered a good musician again??

Good question? :biglaugh:

I would love to go back to the NO Jazz Fest. Both times Ive been have been so much fun. Met Willie Nelson there back in '99 and saw his show.
The lineup looks pretty good this year but not as enticing as years past. If I had the opportunity I would go though. If for nothing else then some of that New Orleans food. :yummy:

ah man - Van the Man these days - stay away!

that guy was amazing in his prime, but boy has he gone off - sadly - still does the odd gig in pubs round my way - the session musicians checking their watches for when they can go home etc.

here's Van back in the day - can still hear some of the anger and soul of the Belfast streets

lol i love the tune big chief as well, make sure you hear dr. john doin it, both back in 73 with organ and the version he cut on clint eastwood's piano blues documentary, part of the scorcese series, which is him alone acoustic and funky as all get out after all these years. that is a great mardi gras tune. come to think of it no one mentioned wild tchoupitoulas? album from 76 is what the meters coulda been, man the mardi gras got black indians everywhere oo da deh
