New member's question + pix of DCxSC, The Cure, Purple Trash, & Purple Kush

Hey all, this is my first post on icmag...I've been reading online for a little while now, but I decided it was time to join in. I'm currently in my second year of growing. I've been able to harvest once before, but only a clone that I flowered right away (so I only yielded about an eighth). Other than that last year (my first attempt at flowering) my crop was pretty much destroyed by caterpillars and bad weather. Anyway, currently I'm flowering a Deep Chunk x Strawberry Cough, the Cure, a Purple Trash mother, and some Purple Kush. I'm force-flowering by putting them in a dark room for twelve hours overnight. The pix below are day 32 of flowering.
I've read online that after 6 weeks of flowering the plant has entered full bloom and it's possible to put the plant outside to finish off flowering, even if the days are too long for flowering to happen. I was wondering if anyone can vouch for this? Does this work? Does the yield or potency go down? More chance of hermies? Any input would be helpful...I could really use the indoor space and putting them out/bringing them in is kind of a pain in butt, but if it's going to hurt my ladies or if it's risky then it's out of the question. If anyone has done this themselves or seen this done succesfully please let me know. Now on to...pix!

Nice pics:tiphat:
For me. imoe I have found that if you start something indoor but want to move outside just don't bring them back and forth, in and out. Taking too many friendly/unfriendly critters into your grow. BTW, why would you want to move them outside with only 2-3 weeks left? I would not chance it at all. They look too good to take that chance. Just my opinion.:tiphat:

Daniels- thanks dude! It's actually not dro, It's soil grown.

Justin- I guess I should have been a little more specific. These were flowered by going back and forth, in and out. They're outside from 7:30 in the morning until 7:30 at night. I know there is more of a chance of pests/diseases/etc. but I've taken precautions and I keep a watchful eye over my girls. Plus, finding ladybugs is a hobby of mine:)

I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience in leaving flowering plants outside after week 6...I could use the room indoors because I've been wanting to set up an indoor garden (and taken them in and out each day is a hassle). Like I said I only want to do this if I can be positive it won't negatively affect them...thanks!!

It is my experience that once they are 3-4 weeks flowering they are too far along to reverse. I sometimes do in and out. Will put them under hot so cal sun from 6AM to 8PM and then under lamps while it is dark. Its only a matter of moving 10 feet from my driveway or side yard into garage. This way they get full sun. Got 4 feet of growth in 3 months doing that this spring summer and that was on short to medium plants. It will not reduce potency. Pick a little from 2-3 weeks from finish every couple of days until finish to find your optimum potency. Remember buds pick early have higher THC an buds later weigh more which is why growers growall the way out. Hope it helps

thanks for the response crossbow! I'm a little confused, though...You say you vegged by throwing out and then pulling them in. I'm currently flowering by pulling them in at night...did you do the same for the first 3-4 weeks and then just left them outside during the summer?

Vegged with 24 hours of light. would use outside during day inside light at night. I would put outside at the tail end of the long days and let nature take its course. I have even brought back inside for 24 hours of light to regenerate. you can start the flowering process by bringing inside at night. if you are concerned about space you can put a trashcan over the top of them for a 13 hour period and you can make it flower or continue the flowering cycle without interruption. (of course this only works if your plants are small enough. The potency will not be reduced. Pick a couple of buds every couple of days starting a couple of weeks before end of flowering. The potency is stronger when picked early. They will weigh more when taken all the way to the end. That is why commercial growers take all the way to the end. if taken every couple of days you will find the deal for you.

Yeah, mine are too big for the trashcan...pulling them inside at night is how I am flowering them. I asked the guy at the store I go to and he said it's kind of risky to throw them out and expect them to finish solid when the days are longer. Some strains can flower with 18 hr.s of light! and then again others require around twelve-which would mean that it would revert to the vegetative stage if I left them outside right now (if I did have a strain like that). He said it's feasible, but only with certain strains. I've read that hashplant does start to flower in July, but I'd rather not take the chance. Plus, I still kind of suspect that switching the photoperiod from the one that I've set to the natural one would stress it and the quality would go down, along with the yield (even if just a bit).
