Al lists the strain as having come from about 29 degrees South, Durban, SA. Unfortunately, they're not currently available for direct shipment to the US. I don't totally get that, but there are workarounds for the crafty, I'm sure.I remember a 70's seed catalog showing pure Durban poison for sale (crossed with Skunk #1 IIRC). Never figured out how they could bill it as pure. Lol
What's the lineage of this one?
I emailed Khalifa a while back. They have a hub in the U.S. and they do deliver within the states. I know they must be great breeders because Dubi wouldnt deal with just anyone. I just wish people would post more grow reports on their gear. I plan on ordering some hashplants myself at some pointAl lists the strain as having come from about 29 degrees South, Durban, SA. I would love to have tried that Durban/Skunk hybrid! And I'm not even all that much of a Sativa user.
Looks like he's also working on acquiring some new additions from Pakistan. I'm very interested in what he's able to get out of there. Especially at the north-eastern most provinces.
Thanks for your input!I don't know that there is a true/pure Durban outside of some private collections. I would recommend going to Ace Seeds and looking through theirs and their vendors products. They are the most vetted and scrutinized in the industry.

This is why I'm a little confused about the Durbans. But, there must be a good reason. A hop and a skip removed would get them to me if I wanted them, but I'm not in the market right now for a Durban. Hell of a strain, tho.I emailed Khalifa a while back. The sheberghan and balkh hashplants are what i plan to order. So im glad you're having luck with it. Im not a very big indica fan but they're beautiful plants to grow and i hear pure landrace indicas are a much more enjoyable high than the stupefying effects of todays hybridsThanks for your input!
I have a few strains via Ace, too. All of them very good. I don't know about a pure modern Durban either. But, it's possible he got his hands on an original 80's and continued it on his own. I'm not sure how he acquired them. I have one plant from Khalifa, a Sheberghan. It's one of two I have from that region. It's a fine hash plant.
A lot of Landraces have a balanced Cannabinoid profile unlike modern day hybrids selected for mostly high THC levels.i hear pure landrace indicas are a much more enjoyable high than the stupefying effects of todays hybrids
That makes total sense to me. I cant stand the effects of most of todays hydrids and its probably from insane levels of thc. To each their own ofcourse. I just know feeling lethargic and tired is the last thing i want when i catch a buzzA lot of Landraces have a balanced Cannabinoid profile unlike modern day hybrids selected for mostly high THC levels.
I can only attest to the Sheberghan from Khalifa, but I have a Balkh hashplant I acquired in a trade that's even more suited to my personal tastes. I'm a heavy Indica fan. It's kind of good to know, too, that with many of the landrace Indicas you'll be able to still enjoy a more Sativa-like stone by cutting your harvest time down a notch. If you harvest when heads have just turned completely cloudy with no amber in sight, you'll get a much more Sativa-like experience. The sheberghan and balkh hashplants are what i plan to order. I couldn't agree with you more on your comment about the hybrids of today. Man, we're taking it to a big time extreme. All for the sake of the BIG EM IN CANNABIS ---> Marketing.
I have one from Tropical seeds. They call it 'Durban Poison 70s.' It is definitely a pure sativa. Pretty light yield for the size of the plant. Smoke is very nice, but not super potent. Pleasant and not so lethargic. Taste is herbal, mentholyotus, and cedar/pine. Finished in October here in the bay area. Nice to have a landrace sativa that finished on time in my region.I don't know that there is a true/pure Durban outside of some private collections. Ive read about folks doing that. i mostly grow pure sativas and harvesting them early is a nightmare. Terrible high and the bud quality suffers greatly. I do enjoy a Sativa every once in a while. I've never harvested them early because I'm naturally ramped up all the time as it is. So, I tend to let my Sativas almost (and sometimes entirely) die in the pot.Ive read about folks doing that. i mostly grow pure sativas and harvesting them early is a nightmare. Thanks for this info.AkBeanBrains has the Original Durban from the 80s Super Sativa Seed Club stock. It takes 80+ days to finish, and has no skunk in it.
Email Dave for a complete list of his gear. Hes also generous with freebies, and if you ask for more Durban seeds as freebies chances are he will give them to you. Theyre $100 a pack. Plus Shipping. Hes got way more to offer than what most of the seed banks have. Hes also got the original early 90s NL5 x Haze. NL1, NL5, Black Domina, and many more. He also has hybrids of clone only strains. Tk x NL5 x Haze is also killer.
