New Hydrohuts

Does anyone have any info on the new huts that Hydrohut is about to release? According to their ad in a few magazines the new huts are supposed to be the super doober, uber mack daddy, daddy mack, ultimate, no holds barred, pimptastical huts ever conceived.

Oddly enough, I actually believe that their new product will be excellent. Except for the offgassing (which was a serious issue), the quality of the previous products was top notch. I think they've probably learned from their mistakes.

I had an original Hydrohut Mini. It offgassed and my plants hurt bad. Then they send me a new "fixed" hut and it does the same exact thing. I would be somewhat of a skeptic to their claim of a "new and improved" product.

I have (2) 4x8 and (1) 4x4.
All excellent quality, no off gas problem.
I've had them for a couple of years.
I thought for sure the zippers would have broke by now, but they still work.
I think the new tents will be great.
Probably similar inside to the Darkroom tents.
Hopefully they keep the real flanges instead of the sock type.
Maybe a bigger model, too?

Wow, you are quite a dick.
I didn't say anything of the sort.
The Hydrohut problems started when the manufacturer changed materials on them.
They were fine before that.
Even when made by the Chinese people that you hate so much.
Is your bad attitude a sign that your grows continue to suck?
See, I can be a complete asshole just like you!
How constructive this is.

So, I'm thinking about these things as a viable option to run mutiple strains...I'm thinking 4x4's with 600's. Three total. Can anyone chime in with personal experience of the "off gas issue?"

Going to do some research. Some first hand knowledge is always helpful though.

Cheers.

While many of the products China produces are not of the quality that some of us in the West are accustomed to, that doesn't mean the Chinese cannot produce a good product. You can buy US or EU made products that are just as bad as the worst that China has ever made.

I would like to see what other people might have to say about the new huts when they come out. There is no reason to make this thread ugly.

Yeah I can... The offgassing thing was ridiculous.. There's a few threads about it, here's one:

Fun times.

IMO - I recommend nobody do business with Hydrohut, no matter how many features they copy from the Jardin tents.

They strung me along with one BS "solution" after another, along with a bunch of other customers with bad tents. They kept selling them for months after they knew there was a major problem.

Then, after finally figuring out the covers were bad, they did a recall, but didn't really fix the covers and just sent them back. They claimed they hired bad temp workers who didn't do the "fix", but even after that, nobody has come forward to say their new cover works, and lots of people have said that they are still bad post-bad-temp-worker-admission.

Homebox and Secret Jardin have been problem free thus far, so, in my opinion, there is just no reason to consider the Hydrohut in light of what they put so many people through that could have been avoided by being forthright about the offgassing situation. I sincerely believe they played the game to keep sales going as long as they could well beyond the point at which they knew a lot of people would get bad products.

Anyways AprilFOOL, I ran a 1000w light in a 4x4 hut and would consider that, or perhaps 2 600w lights, to be the maximum you should run in that size tent. You can do the 3x600 if you want, but you'll really need to go over the top on a scrubber and exhaust fan to keep the tent cool.

any company can make junk. american companies do to, thats not disputable, the only thing is in america that shit dosent fly for very long and the company goes under. usa and EU have way too high overhead for sloppy-products to last

Thanks mang! I was thinking three tents total....one light per tent. With the 4 x4 and the 1000w, were you able to pull atleast 1lbs per tent?

Didn't read the entire thread....but wanted to warn you.

Hydrohut actually informed me that they "gave up" on fixing the problem, because even after they thought it was fixed, they were still having issues. I was very dissapointed obviously. If the new ones are lined with white plastic like the old ones, I wouldn't touch it. Unless you plan to have a TON of intake/exaust.

I read in an ad they have in Grower's Edge (I am pretty sure that was the rag) that they are using a totally different material for the tent. If I remember correctly, it stated that it was something of a laminate, a layer for the outside, a thermal layer and a reflective layer. The reflective layer is supposedly something like mylar from what I have been able to gather so far.
