door... window... any overhang on roof... i don't know how hard it would be to remove an entire panel of siding but that might allow you to hide it later on if need be... or tell the landlord you want to put a dryer in the garage and you don't know what to do about the vent :)

In the construction industry we don't use reciprocating saws for finish work.

The hole saw is the way to go. Make sure when you begin drilling that the cutting edge makes full contact with the surface to be bored. Keep even pressure, controlled speed and don't tilt the drill motor as this can/will cause the boring tool to walk off and make a mess of the job.

hell yeah! i think i am going to cut a hole in the siding with a razor knife then bore through the wood. the dryer vent will hide the cut and hopefully everything will look clean.

You can forget the utility knife, the hole saw will punch through both the siding and the wall sheathing. Take your time and be careful, make it look like a Pro did it.
