Hello,

I am from India and this is my second grow.I am going for full organic grow.

I have planted around 30 to 40 seeds within 3 to 4 months. All of the seedling have been cut off just above the soil level after they develop the false leaves. I have searched around and found to be Cut Worm but I have checked and no Cut Worms found and the cabinet is secured.

Soil:
50% - Coco Peat (Sterilized with H2O2 and Washed)
50% Perlite
Worm Casting/Vermicompost Lightly Mixed
Need Cake very lightly mixed

Container:
Small Plastic Cups(Beer Cups) with holes pocked at bottom for drainage.

Germination Method:
Direct Germination: Germination Success
Water and Paper Towel: Germination Success

Watering:
Watering the soil till run off ensuring that there are no air pockets before germinating.
No watering after planting the seeds.

Light:
1 - 85 watts Cool White CFL
1 - 40 watts Cool White CFL
Placed 2 foot above the seedlings.

Grow Cabinet:
Well Ventilated with Exhaust and Intake Fans.

Temperature:
Normal to cannabis plant.

Insect Problems:
No insects in Grow Cabinet. So no cut worms or etc.

These are my grow conditions.

Please help me out as I have lost quite few seeds and cant figure out whats happening.
After plants died I checked soil and the bottom soil is very wet. Seedling keep dying and appeared to be cut off from soil level.

I suspect damping off. Please tell me if I am on right direction and how to prevent it even no watering after germinating the seeds.

I will upload pics after I see it again as I thrown them out.

Yeah, don't water till run out, or use a higher draining soil. Also fluorescent light should be kept mere cm from top of plant to prevent stretch or they will be gangly and likely break.try and keep at 80* steady too.

I would let the tail get about 2cm long in paper towel then plant with seed right at surface with tail down and just add a small cap off water every day r two just around the seed until it starts to establish. It will only consume tiny amounts of water for first week r more, better on the dry side IMO. When they need more a small hole drilled in a pop bottle lid makes a great seed watering device. Very controlled. You only need to run off once salt builds up from feeding, so not till 2-4 weeks then the plant will handle that amount of water.

Forgot to mention, I tried with only coco peat with very less watering to prevent damp off. Result were same.

My friend tried and he is having success with same soil and condition. He packs his soil mix(coco peat) tightly and I don't. That's the only difference.

Seedling seems fine for 1st day and then dead and cut off very next day.

Are they cut off completely or does the stem shrivel and plant falls over? I had a roach in my room that bit seedlings off, the bastard. I used roach bait cartridges, and stopped the problem. As a work around, I used a tall dome for quite a while that I had cut out sections and taped on nylon screen so the RH wouldn't be high. Water with 3 oz of 3% peroxide/gal. Good luck. -granger

They are cut off but funny thing is that they are not moved and some times fallen over. Stem looks normal but not shriveled except just above or below the cut part. I don't see any signs of insects but I will keep an eye for roaches!!

I do use H202 diluted in water before planting my seed or germinated seeds.

Aside for this, I have prepared Soil (30 liters bucket) with
50% Coco Peat
50% Perlite
9 Tea Cups Vermi Compost
3 Tea Cups Bone Meal
3 Tea Cups Fish Meal
3 Tea Cups Neem Cake

Is this soil too hot? Do I need to add anything else?

I think that it lacks K (Potassium) and cant find a organic source for it around my area.
Also do I need to add Epsom Salt and VAM (Mycorrhiza) in it?
