i've got 6 plants vegging in 5 gallon buckets, circled around 600w hps vertical barebulb. im doing dwc w hydroton. im using gh florolicious plus and cns17 from botanicare. i've got one inch holes w tubing connecting the 7 buckets (one 5 gallon is for res). i've got an air pump w 6 tubes feeding into each bucket. (only four have air stones, do i really need them?) And finally, i've got 4 gods gift, and 2 kryptonite... thats basically all i have. i've had very little experience growing so any help is apprectiated...

I'm new too but I think pics would be a big help, especially if you think you are running into problems.
I dks about dwc but isn't each bucket supposed to have it's own airstone?

Yes, I had two girls ripen on me in a seven flood and ebb bucket system because their airstones were pinched.

One air stone per bucket, even one in the Res.

But other than that you are on your way.

Make sure to get a black lid for your Res. You don't want algae.

you dont need airstones but you do need air ,open hose or airstones are fine
Floricios plus is an additive if your not into real veg or flower no need for it .I dont know about the cns17 but from what i read i wouldnt use it with DWC .Lucas is much easier for someone learning.

Do you have ph up/down meters or test kits thats a must?

i do have ph meter and my ph is right at 6.0... i've got a lid for the res but no air, ill take care of that today. ill charge my camera and post some pics later.

i've got a buddy that uses cns17 with his hydro, he likes it, so ill give it at shot. plus i've already bought it lol. is there something cns17 lacks?

they've been in the buckets for about 2 weeks and so far, they seem to be loving there new home.

pics to come.

thanks

I dont know about commercial nutriant 17 ,but i stay away from products that have benny microbes in dwckind of like hygrozyme type products , and the description says coco growers will love it for this reason.just my 2 cents.

CK nice to see a new valley grower getting goin. I use cn 17 in my hydro and there haven't been any problems. My only caution is that you check the water temp periodically. Specially when it gets into the 100's. Think your gonna love that GG.

hmmm root rot. are you aerating thee water in them buckets properly? res temps? food? i'm a hempy man myself (and NEVER had ANY root rot over the years, EVER) so i can't really say much about your method of grow

As grass said. High water temps causes low dissolved o2 in the water which leads to root rot. If you have problems grab a water chiller off of c-list or stick a frozen 2 liter bottle of water in your control bucket to bring those temps down.
