Hey some people stopped by!

Thanks for the kind greetings all.

50 post's seems very daunting now, as I don't have much to contribute, but in time I bet I will. Anyone local in M a i n e? We've been getting frost near every morning this past 3 days, so I guess near everyone in NE is hunched over with sticky fingers!!! I remember those days :)

Very nice GNW .. What strain you growing there??
Oops, forgot to say what they were didn't I?

Top two pics show two different phenos of Mighty Mite x Passion#1 (these are F4). The other pictures are a creation of mine I just call 'X'. It's a polyhybrid consisting of (Lavender x Afghani Orange) x (MM x P#1). It's an alright strain, but I don't think I'll continue the line. It's not quite as potent or mold-resistant as I'd like.

I'd love the give the cindy cross a run sometime, I bet that frosty male would contribute some extra punch! I did another cross this season, this time with caramella. Caramella proved to be a good outdoor strain, so I'm hoping for positive results.

I have grown C- 99 a few times in new England with great results. C-99 can be a big yielder and certain plants with the bigger colas can get the mold. Its best to top them off and get away fom that big main cola.

I made a cross a few years back with C- 99 and Soma's Reclining Buddha. Very good on potentcy and production. I sent seeds to BC where it was used by a fair amount of growers there with good results. Mold issues were pactically nil

you growers are on the right track :smoke: ... i can't stress it enough, C99 may be the ultimate strain for outdoor growing (i am already convinced :rasta: & have been for years) .. grown from seed the sexing of males & females will express themselves with in a month of veg with no reduction of light exposure, she is very fast to mature, has a uplifting psychadelic buzz, can yield very well, is mold resistant, and produces the sweetest & tastiest buds of very high potency, and best of all is the extreme high quality of the final product... is superb breeding stock for hybrid cross's what more could you want?

C99 really looks like the way to go, esp if you love the Sativa high, like we do. Early sexing is very important in NE. I want to keep the total of work and plants to a minimum!

I got my White Widow as clones from a friend so
I don't know about ordering seeds though... scary??

Not at all, been doing it on and off since the 80's, but mostly in the last 6-7 yrs.
Alot of that is swapping seeds w/ like-minded individuals, as well as buying.

The premise w/ the original OG NE Growers thread, was to identify what works well in NE and be able to network and spread info.

We desperately need to find some like-minders!

I don't think we can wait til the Summer. So maybe we'll take it indoors small scale. ???

Been looking at Mandala's Speed Queen, with an eye on doing a few inside to find a mum and get a little harvest for Jan. , then getting some clones rooted and outside for next season's OD.

we are both so sick of schwagtastic 10$ grams :cuss:, you have no idear... haven't had anything decent since we left Montreal 2 years ago !!!

Bart...looking good.I'd like to hear more about that cross of yours.Sounds yummy.

Star crash...you have convinced me I must pop some C99 beans!! How many seeds did you go through before finding your mother plant Star...or was she gifted cut? I think i have @ 20 or so F2's of C99.I should probably start some soon.I also heard NL99 from Joey weed has developed a pretty good rep.

MissesMTL..welcome.you ought to get yourself a hydro hut or something.Maine is pretty tolerant of a small personal grow.

GNW...I grew some GG x DP gifted from our friend Highlighter. They were nice plants.I am looking forward to growing some MM crosses myself.I grew one Mighty mite x M39.I was impressed with the main cola and how it dense it got with NO mold.of course it was finished by the 2nd wk in Sept too.that helped.

The St.- Are you talking about them piney, maine outdoor nugs? They are darker, usually smallish nugs... sometimes the stems look like they bled red sap along the cut end, they smell for all the world like a pine tree and are available from about the first weekend in October until Jan-March. If you are, you are talking about what I was told is Freezeland.

Griploads get grown up here every year, as it finishes in time, and resists mold well. I need to find some info on that strain, but it would seem to have some kush genetics (region) in it, as this area provides us many piney phenos. Pinetar Kush is an excellent strain, and it is piney. You being from Maine and asking about pine bud makes me think you are wondering what the hell you're smoking every harvest season.

Well first of all this site is supported by Seedbay. They're tops in my book. It's of course nice to support something that has given so much to me.
However if you're looking for certain Canadian strains you may have to broaden your search.

The ST......PM me for some seedbank suggestions.I'm a seedaholic
Seedbay has a bunch of great choices for under 30.00 and you
can really have some great choices ifm you can spend a little
more...BL

The St. Funny you should mention Romulan... I meant to tell you in my other post that that is another very piney strain that gets grown outdoors, in our parts. I don't know how dominant the pine genotype is in either strain, but I'm assuming (as with any cross) that it will be expressed less in the offspring of a cross. Depends on: Pineplant selected, Plant selected as other parent, relative dominance/recessiveness of pine genotype, presence/absence of contributing/inhibiting genes in the other parent, number of offspring grown out, etc.

Sensi Star is worth a look, too- although it's more like there is one, less common phenotype that smells piney w/ SS, as opposed to Freezeland or Romulan where most of the phenos smell like pine but express different growth traits, etc.

So, to sum up...
Romulan, Pinetar Kush, Freezeland, and Sensi Star are all 'piney' strains. I would recommend them in that order, actually. There was a bit of drama between IC Admin and HTC a minute ago, but assuming that is all resolved, you should be able to find on of the members on here. Tom Hill bred the PTK, so they could tell you more about it. All I know is that I have smoked it a few times, and it was a pinetastic doozy!

Good Luck on the hunt!
