Checked my plants today for the first time and brought more, the plants I had put out earlier had grown all of 2" :( Apparently they didnt like the soil I put them in, so I dug them up and found a MUCH MUCH better spot with 2x as much light and some very goood soil, put allmost all of the plants there so we shall see what I get.

The new spot will produce, if not much this year a lot from now on, there is tons of space and its extreemly well lit, I didnt think I would find a place like this in my area since the forest grows in so fast. Turns out Huge ferns and wetland areas have kept the trees from growing in so all I had to do was chop the ferns in the immediate area (they will grow back next year, the tubers are huge).

Also found a pond nearby with HUNDREADS of THOUSANDS of tadpoles in it, I dare not fill a jug to water or it would be full of tadpoles!!! Heres a pic, my cam is low rez but I can make out the tadpoles in the lit spots! Never in my life have I seen that many so concentrated. Usually when there is an overabundance of tadpoles a lot of them die because there is not enough to eat, not here for some reason.

deft, just fill a big five gallon bucket then use a strainer to get the tadpoles out and toss them back into the pond

The groundwater is realy nice, soil is dry on top but 3 inches down is perfect down to 2 ft or so, dont think there is any need to water!

There were some MASSIVE toads around, probably where all the tadpoles came from, they probably come from all around to breed there.

Hey Fellow New Englanders,
Highlighter's been after me to post some pics etc.I'd love to but it takes SOO long and I am a woman with very little free time. Can any of you turn me on to a really quick and easy resizing link.Surely it doesn't take everyone else 30 minutes to download, resize, etc etc??? I have a quick high speed hook up too?? thx guys and look forward to some pics of nebula,dj's blueberry, avalon, diablo, blue dragon, biddy early,ak99 x freezeland, texada timewarp hybrids.thx all BL

I have a fiber optic connection capable of going well faster than most of the internet lol. The only place I get a chance to use it is in peer to peer filesharing, everywhere else I never get more than 800MbPS down which is a lot less than I should get. I usualy just start uploading pics to this site full size since my cam is only 3megapixles, open another window and go do somthing else online or go do somthing around the house and come back in a few minutes and move it forward again till its done.

When I do resize I just go to Paint, Image, Stretch Skew.. and just put in a value for stretch thats less than 100% till the pic is the right size.. it dosent seem to mess up the image if you resize it a bunch like adobe or other programs which often leave marks from resizing.

They are covered with black trash bags now. 5 gallon containers (minus the one that i tipped over probably had like 3-4 gallon).

just got back from a watering trip, and man is it fuckin hot out there. only took about 30 seconds for me to sweat through my shirt, and a lot of the natural vegetation was laying down from the heat.

just to add a little insult to injury 3 durbans decided to show me their balls. :cuss:
on a brighter note, 2 biddys are confirmed females, the 2 silvers look to be on the verge of showing themselves to be females, and the rest are undetermined.

i guess the appearance of males means i wont have so many plants to care for, and less water to haul, but god damn... lets hope i dont find any more males in the garden, im in this for BUDZ! :wallbash:

Yeah, it's hot, and I'm on the coast, enjoying some nice breezes. When I went to take pics last night, one of my plants had a bit of wilt to her even tho I watered her that A.M. I can tell I'm going to become a watering slave... :frown:
Nice pond action, Deft!
ramero, try to water in the A.M. or late afternoon/evening (A.M. the best) watering mid-day the water can evaporate before doing the plant any good. Like spilling half yer jug before you even get there.
Sure glad you've got a couple of Biddy girls! :D I've got 13 girls confirmed, w/ 4 plants undetermined. That's alot of water hauling. I really need some RAIN!!!

marley1, you'll be watering like a fiend w/ those containers. They didn't have anything brighter @ Home Depot? :biglaugh: You might consider sinking those containers in the ground, both for stealth and to keep them from baking the roots in those buckets. Good luck, hope to see them explode w/ growth!

Here's a Power Malawi from yesterday. Digging her quite a bit! :D

Budluver, are you using the photo manager that came w/ your 'puter, or the software that came w/ the camera?
Don't know anything about any of these, just googled them up. They're either free or free trial period. Hope they might help.

HighLighter..... You're the best...will give them a try BL
I work until sunday afternoon but promise to try and post some pics.My blue dragons are getting big.I had to move one of my major plots( 18 plants) because the land was sold.Closng is next week.I moved my blueberries, ap 11, trance, thunderflo. Left a nice 4+ ft GG x danish passion) and a couple nice marocs.I'm hoping they can stay where they are until I can put them in a cornfield.Have like six big one left to move. It's nervewracking as heck.

Marley...I have to say I had the same reaction as Highlighter. Holy bright grow buckets ..lol..I have had to improvise due to the land where I have a third of my plants was sold. I went to walmart and bought a bunch of 23 gallon green or black totes. I paid 3.99 for mine.Thats not much IMO. My 45 gallon garbage pails were 12.99.Those are great to use in the brush.Vegetation hides the pails and their height allows the plants good sun exposure. I bury them when the plants start to stand out. That lowers them some and they blend right. I prefer to have my plants in the ground but they can yield awesome in a 20+ gallon container..good luck...get those pails in the weeds or something!

20+ gallons :jawdrop:
i got some 5 gallon buckets like marley, except when i went to home depot and saw that they only sold bright orange ones i went up the street to lowes and bought some white ones and a few cans of hunter green spray paint.

as far as the trash cans go... DAAYYYUMMMM!! i bet the plants would get huge but thats a heavy container when its filled with soil... also a larger investment on each plant, and more water hauling... i suppose with proper care and good genetics though the outcome would be totally worth it.

Blue dragon

Blue dragon

Okay HL and my fellow New England growers I finally took some pics and I think I've figured out how to post them.I grow in a very sandy area so my soil is all brought in.My largest plants at this spot last yr were @ 7 oz's.It is pure sand and difficult to keep them totally satisfied later in the season due to the nutes and organics being washed out of the soil so quickly.

First up Blue Dragon

Next Pr of Blue Dragons
