Heres what I am trying.... Habanero peppers, cyanne pepper, and tabacco, cooked up on a pot for bout 20 minutes, then add soap, and spray.
I made some and sprayed it on my outdo recently, havent checked back for results but the reason Im posting this is to get feedback.
Has anyone tried this method or something similar and how was the results? I have a large outdoor infestation, no money for the expensive shit (floramite, azatrol) or neem as the amount I have to spray is too much for one bottle of neem to cover. Thanks and wish me luck, Ill post back with results.

Good luck!!! Not sure it's possible for you to do, but good blasts of water help too. In commercial greenhouse they sometimes rig sprayers to blast water up at the plants, and it greatly hinders mites. Once your flowers are really set though, that goes out the window too. Too much mold risk.

Are you down with tossing some garlic and lemon in there?

Another possibility might be the ph reaction of the Mite Eradicator recipe used on here. You have to water them down again to get it off 5-10 minutes later (or some such time).

P.S. I am raising some beautiful Deep Chunk X NC Afgoo. . I remember seeing your pics. Did you ever get it to really pump a yeild? I am in my second run with a packed short canopy, about to finish in coco w/ Pura Vida and it looks really good. Last round was the 1st in the room, so you know. . but this one is tighter. I am hoping for 1.5 per 1kw without CO2.

Oww, I know it's a bit crazy, but you could also add a lacto-bacillis culture to the mix. May as well really beef em up. There is a the thread in Organic Hydro about the "OBBT Growshow" (which is pretty cool) and she instructs in making one using rice water rinse, and milk.

Very simple, and definately a gardeners friend. Then again, all that heat in your sauce might just nuke em.

Owww, I came back for a GOOD reason.

I found this link and wanted to share. I am dealing with some myself right now.

Basically Organicide, neem, and soap. Claims great effectiveness, and with many forum responses supporting it.

Reading farther down the link, they determine the original ratio causes burns, so they half the dose. Just wanted to be sure you knew.

here is a recipe an old hippy gave me, he has been growing since the 70s and swears it works, I never have had bugs so I haven't tried it but I guess I should pass it on.

1 TBSP ground cinnamon
1 TBSP ground cloves
2 TBSP italian seasoning(this made me laugh when he told me)

bring to a boil in a pot with a half gallon of water then remove from heat

then add:

2 TBSP diced onion
4 crushed fresh garlic cloves

let it cool then strain it through a metal coffee filter or cheese cloth

add a few drop of dish soap and that's it

Spray plants every other day for 1-2 weeks and saturate the top of the soil with it too.
then use it once a week as a preventative.

There you go, like I said I don't know if it works, I just know he swore by it. I would think adding the hot pepper stuff wouldn't hurt, but it's not in the original recipe so I didn't include it.

ohhh he also said you can add an optional teaspoon of neem to it, but that it's not needed it's just an extra "fuck you" to the bugs(that was exactly how he said it too).

couple growers I know have used it and said it worked, but again like I said, I never have.

many usefull things here to be found ...

i for myself use ... 2.5L water + 0.5L oil made out of "Brassica napus" [im sorry i dont know the english term for it!] , water and oil are 2 liquid's which combine with the help of "Soy-Lecithine" which acts as emulgent ... , just add the soy lecithine very carefully to the mixture while stirring , untill you see oil and water combining to a milk-like liquid ...

its a usefull way of washing away mite eggs , keeps away white flies , thrips and gnats , and it doesnt stink like neem does ... :D

Neem oil & hot shots !

I even think the hotshots Alone would do it.
Maybe a spray bottle of water and some fans to disrupt them and a hotshot or two in the area.
Goodbye SpiderMites ! FOR GOOD! '

You can get 1oz bottles of floramite on ebay for 25 bucks or so, it is the ONLY thing that works for sure. Besides, perhaps, much stronger miticides, but no need to mess with those. Floramite!

Mites defintly don't like hot pepper much. They will attack everything except my sage and pepper plants

I might try some companion planting (too late now) to see if they can be detoured.

i dont know about all those natural sprays In all my casess i found mites to be very persistant on my plants.

In my honost opinion you should go buy a bottle of forbid 4f. It is 60 a bottle but it works very well . Saturate the undersides of you leaves one good time with a mister bottle after that you should have no mites.

Hot shots burn plants and leave residue.
galic and cinomon will not kill anything just make them chew on another part of your crop.
neem is nasty .flat out oil that isnt good to have around your flowers.

Its a single dose of forbid or a whole heep of trouble once you start to bud your plants, act quick and save your crop.

ps i have used the same bottle since 2005....... its still about half full, this stuff goes along ways.

Adding habanero chili slices to the lactobacillus as it's fermenting creates what's known as a 'fermented plant extract' which is very effective against mites, thrips & white flies.

Amazon.com sells Dyna-Gro Neem Seed Oil for $38.00 per quart which will make 48 gallons (4 tsp. per gallon of water) which is less than $.80 per gallon.

A gallon is around $90.00 if I remember correctly. A gallon would make 192 gallons of product.

Just a thought.........

Nice info, thanks man! It won't let me give you more rep at this time.
Thank you for the kind words.

If you're interested in 'fermented plant extracts' (FPE) then the next logical step would be to learn about BIM (Beneficial Indigenous Microorganisms) which will probably lead you to the EM-1 deal and bokashi bran and bokashi composting.

Interesting topics to be sure. If nothing else you'll understand the utter stupidity of using Floramite and the other poisons out there.

I would love to take Floramite out of my tool kit. I just had to use it for the first time ever. Had no choice.

Thanks for the leads- time to research.
