But why is it that we are hearing about all of these busts that happen to be from the Pueblo area?

i dunno,
cops work methodically
these busts are being handed to local authorities by feds (DEA most likely) who don't have the time/energy to go after "smaller fish" on the fed watch. so they hand over the small fish to small fisherman (local pigs) and the local pigs make damn sure there is media attention to capture their BIG MOMENT when the CAUGHT the BAD GUYS.
denver metro drug task force has been doing busts like this every day 2 to 3 houses per day for years, maybe it isn't really "news worthy" in the state capital (maybe denver doesn't want the "bad press" of home grow busts, but pueblo is ok with it?)

also the media coverage serves as a beacon to shut down cautious growers in the area - sensationalism

Most of the folks busted are from out of state, mostly Florida, afaict.

Pueblo isn't a place big enough to just disappear into. The population of the whole county is only 160K. It's fairly conservative if not insanely so like Colorado Springs. Nor is it a place where people from out of state come to find jobs because there aren't any jobs. And it's not that outsiders aren't welcome. There just really aren't many, certainly not many from Florida who have no visible means of support.

When the DEA got on to a few of these people at the other end in Florida they went to the Pueblo cops who took it to the next level & hit the jackpot. It's not hard for them to figure it out when they know what they're looking for. It's even easier if they cheat-

Those gizmos will be the demise of outlaw growers everywhere.

Went to the firing range the other day and only 4/24 bullets landed outside the 8 ring, I have the exact same attitude, despite only picking up my gun once a year for practice.

Guy I was with says "slow down Annie Oakley, you wanna hit somethin" and laughed, then looked at my target and remembered the story I told him about my father collecting firearms and being in the military
Yeah but a home grower only has to submit a sample...if they refuse it, I keep it for myself...

Oh I BELEIVE in my bow first...Gives me time to decide if the neighbors should hear about it....

the restrictions in boulder county mimic many others around the state, in other words; nothing new to see here, just the same regs in a new location that includes some old time growing areas like nederland and it's outskirts.

no place in colorado has been as bold to try a "no growing cannabis" rule that would be absolutely and directly in violation of the constitutional permissions to grow (med/rec).... if/when something like that happens (a ZERO plant count rule), THEN you can have your "i told you so" :D

I was "I tolding you so" because of the State Constitution saying, "whatever is medically necessary."

These laws rules/laws are completely against that.

yhea, you are right, the rules are "unconstitutional " according to some, and until they are decided or proven so in court and precedents against these kinds of rules are set on the grounds of medical necessity (the way the 9 nanogram limit has been overruled on medical grounds in court).
still in washington you can't grow any rec plants anywhere as an individual... or washington DC, not sure about oregon (but i don't think so) not sure about alaska. (or what kind of season you would have there). (there is a good chance the potential upcoming legalization in cali might not allow individuals to grow their own either....)

still, 6 plants per house is (terrible, but) not as bad... in some place i saw the restriction was 6 or 12 plants per zoned address, so an entire apartment building could only have 12 plants, not each home (apartment) have 12 plants.
restrictive? yes, illegal & unconstitutional? i believe so, but that's for the courts to decide, load of crap
but, like i said, nowhere

Anyone hit the rally?

Just got back, first time going. Lots of schwag, t-shirts, glass. Wasn't sure if there'd be seed vendors, and there weren't. No grow shop tents either. Overall though a pretty mellow vibe, huge clouds and got to see Wiz so can't complain.

Friends of mine are back stage with Wiz and Wayne now, that's where all the good stuff ended up ;)

Unfortunately NORML is too busy fighting for the rights of people who are already rich to make even more money to notice things like this.
