A couple grow stores near me have gone out of business. Anyway I was wondering if people are growing much in CO? I will have to travel a ways to get supplies I guess or order from the internet. I would rather shop locally.

A lot of people have scaled down, due to the market being flooded and the new residential grow laws(12 plant limit).

In Denver there are still a few grow stores surrounding the grow areas of Denver. Many of the small ones, poorly located or high priced ones have shut down.

Acme Hydro in Broomfield Jason is awesome.
The Longmont hydeo store is ran by guys who have a genetics company too. Great people.
Cultivate in Commerce City Sam and his team are great.

Hope that helps.

People gradually realize the regular gardening stores have everything they want for cheaper! Agriculture/grain stores have really low prices on most farm & garden stuff too.

yup
im kind of amazed that people still grow using the products from grow stores
i mean some of the hardware is nice like flood trays and custom hydro equipment, but all those overpriced fertilizer systems in fancy bottles.... and the cheapo ones right next to them, could still be doing so much better by using conventional fertilizer products or organic practices

I agree. Most of the hydro stores have small quantities of stuff for the same prices as a larger quantity at an ag store or commercial supplier. They seem like they want to make a ton of money supplying a small grow tents. Failed business model IMO.

Sometimes I go to the grow shop by I-25 Evens they seem to specialize in supplying the larger growers and have fairly competitive prices. They seem to have the cannabis specific stuff that the ag places don't at a decent price.

There are a couple of soil companies by downtown that specialize in cannabis soil mixes that seem to have some competitive pricing.

I am cheap when it comes to growing stuff.. Before I spend money I take a day or two thinking about how to make, scavenge, go without, then... where to buy it the lest expensive. lol

I don't think the Ag stores would carry hydroponic nutrients. I suppose I could get raw salts so I could mix up my own nutrients, but I don't know how to go about that. I mean the process of mixing salts together and the proper order in which to mix them in so there isn't any thing getting locked up and preventing other/any more salts from dissolving.

Our hardware store carries the Botanicare line, it’s an Ace so that kind of surprised me.

The Kmart has a 6x8 section of shelving with vac sealers and bags, a variety of scissors, iso alcohol in bulk.

I've found most prices to be rather close to online costs anyway. The only equipment I prefer to buy at hydro shops are ballasts and things I'd like to be able to exchange across the counter, should they happen to break under warranty. (Personally, I don't believe in using low grade nutrients with cannabis.)

Expensive doesn't mean high grade, and cheap doesn't mean low grade - It's all the same stuff. Jack's is every bit as good as Advanced at like 1% of the price.

NPK is NPK, on a consumer level you are usually paying for marketing and packaging.

altho NPK is NPK....
sources of those nutrients matters, read your "derived from"
def packaging and marketing plays into the cost, but so does the quality of the inputs
