New Article On Landraces

Anyone check out the new article on Landraces in the latest issue of High Times? Nice to see that the mainstream crowd will get a little lesson on the value of landrace genetics. I feel like a lot of young kids these days, don't have a true appreciation for landrace genetics. The centerfold is a Swazi shot.

Not a fan of HT but hey any article that lets people know about the building blocks of the modern canna scene as well as the importance of them is a good thing.

Kids these days have such short attention spans and such hipster attitudes towards everything they are bound to get into landrace strains sooner or later. That about Bubbleman and Gypsy going to Jamaica in IC Mag 2 was pretty inspiring. I'd like to go somewhere exotic and talk shop with the locals. Swap seeds and smoke some joints. I think the next trend will be our Chems, OGs and modern Hazes crossed with exotic landraces.

I'm more worried about people in these "landrace" areas giving up old stand-bys for Dutch genetics that they can get because of the internet. I remember an article (+rep to whoever can find it) about a lot of cash croppers in Mexico growing from clone and importing genetics and the effect it's had on the local gene pool.

My favorite landrace experience in my young life was some killer brick weed from my youth. Very happy day time high, lots of giggling and scarfing, no burn out at all. When you smoked a lot it was almost psychedelic. I saved some seed but I lost that bag seed collection a few years ago.

I didn't find nothing about this article on HT website... Try to write some words to HT editor and ask them for the right link to the article because they didn't reply to my email request!

HT is pretty chinzy about putting articles online. I have given up trying to find anything useful or current on their website. Last I heard they were revamping it but I bet they want you to subscribe to the e-edition to read any full mag articles.
If I don't feel like buying it ($6) I will just camp and read the article at the book franchise place. Guess I better get down there and read the article, eh? Spent my $6 magazine budget on Skunk magazine this month, lol.
I do listen to the podcast, Free Weed, religiously. Good breeder interviews once-in-awhile.
