Hey SSHZ,

It's actually going really well. She is a nice short busy indica. I updated my log over at Rollitup with pics. You can check it out over there. I will add the update to this journal sometime tomorrow.

SSHZ,

I know I don't understand what is going on. I haven't really updated this site as I have so many forums that sometimes other ones suffer. My main two forums are GC & RIU. I am going to update this forum with every post from GC right now. I will also get some pictures today from week 3 SSHZ and upload them tonight or tomorrow.

The sweet zombie is looking good. She did go through a stretching period the first two weeks of flowering, but now she is starting to level out and develop some very tiny buds. She is also starting to slowly begin to develop a sweet smell almost reminiscent of blackberries. She always loves to eat as I am at full strength with her nutes and bumped up the P-K this week to a higher level. She is responding really well with no signs of burn or stress.

Which Breeders Blueberry Are Your Running? I put my Blueberry in a 10g Smart Pot as I am hoping I can turn her into a monster. I just topped everyone of my plants yesterday.

This will be my first run ever with a straight Blueberry Strain. The strain I am most excited about is the clone I got from Dark Heart Nursery "Sour Patch Kids". They posted some harvest nugs on their Instagram and they looked super frosty. Wanted to pick some up from the local shops, but figured I would just wait for my own harvest as not to spoil.

I love the blueberry strain. Yeah I wanna see the Sour Patch, looks promising. Yeah I like to grow my own, don't like all the old school hassle of running around looking then paying an arm and a leg. I med for ptsd and depression (military vet). And the med school the docs give me I forget a lot of stuff or do something stupid, lol. Damn zanax.

Nice. I am a disable Vet as well that was diagnosed with Chrons and PTSD, and thats how I started to get into growing cannabis. Then I started working for big Hydro/Gardening companies and just started working on perfecting the art of growing. Helps alot with my PTSD as well.

I live in Cali and the shops aren't to overpriced although it is a hassle sometimes. When I lived in Seattle their prices were hella high and would make you not even want to smoke.

No bud is more satisfying that the one that you labor over, and take the time to harvest and cure. It always taste and smokes so much better.

That's what I am trying to do. Go with big companies for soil grows and nutrient lines. Been doing a lot of networking and emails, my only problem is NC. So growing veggies also. Not knowledgeable in hydro, I get the concept of DWC. Was going to try it out, but no room right now, might try later. Just a big fan of soil, I use Fox Farm Happy Frog, cedar wood ash, and nitrogen rich bat guano. Did really good not having to give nutes in the beginning stages to mid veg stages.

Use to Live in Winston-Salem and also Ft. Bragg. I am not a huge fan of hydro either you get great quantities, but your quality suffers (Taste/Aroma, etc...). I would recommend using Roots Organic soil not as hot as Foxfarm and I feel the retainment and drainage of water is better. Plus I find that the raw material that are used in Roots is better from a peat moss standpoint.

As far as nutes go I find that their is no one size fits all. I like to use a blend of different companies to really maximize what I want to achieve. I most use a mix of Advanced/Botanicare/Humbolt.

I use to use FoxFarm when I first got started, but found better results with other brands. Plus Foxfarm is going through an internal turnover in their company and I think they are starting to slack on their products. Maybe not but just my two cents.

For the nutes, I used General Organics Go Box. I am in contact with another company to get samples for comparison. You are right a mix of different nutes brands is really great, but I am just trying to achieve which line is good all round. Make it simple just buying a one line brand. But I also mix nutes.

I use to work for The Scotts Miracle Gro. I was never a fan of GH and their line of nutes. Now I like their off-set vermicrop soil "Black Magic" that is carried in Home Depot. That is a quality soil as the peat harvest for that soil is top notch. Just not a fan of the "Black Magic Nutes" or "General Hydro Nutes".

Yeah I figure I will use up the rest of GO Go Line and compare with another company as soon as I get the word from them. Also use up the rest of Fox Farm. I am going to go with roots organic next, try them out.

With the GO Go Line I have found out that I had to cut back a lot. 2.5 ml to 5 ml max or nutes burn happens. Then I also have to use ph water on the next two waterings, to drain some left over nutes.

Yeah I have found GH to run a little hot sometimes also. Try a humic acid like Black Diamond or Sensizym, and use that with water to rinse the salts out of your soil to prevent build up.

Try using fox farm ocean forest. Then when transplanting move into the happy frog.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delay on the update as work has been chaos this week. We are now into Week 4 of veg and this kids are looking good.

Up until this point I have only been feeding with water and mycorrhizae for root development. Also at the end of Week 3 I topped everyone of my plants to encourage them to bush out inside of focusing on vertical growth. Each strain seems to be responding well to the topping method. This week I will begin feeding with some light Sensi Grow Veg nutes and continue with my root development supplements.

I also went out and bought a Fast Fit 4x8 Tray and also a Botanicare 4x8 Ebb & Flow Table. My plan next grow is to switch from soil to Ebb & Flow, so I am getting started on purchasing all the durable I will need. I really like this stand no tools required and its super sturdy. I did not get the Botanicare name brand table, but their generic Duralastic. The quality is still really top notch as I stood in the tray once it was on the table and it held me without any issues and I am 175. Really happy with the quality that Sunlight and Botanicare provide.

My plan is to continue vegging these plants until they get about 24" tall and then I will be flipping the switch to run them on 12/12. After installing the Ebb & Flow Tray I lost about 22" inches in height. I have the Gorilla Grow Tent extension so I have an overhead of 8'. All factors considered that gives me about 52" of grow space to play with. I can also LST if they grow to fast and I need to make an adjustment.

I will continue to keep everyone updated. Please feel free to post question or comments as I love the discussion. I have included a couple of pics. If you would like to see something specific let me know and I will take a picture and post it.

Not sure how that happened when I was transferring data from GC to here, but for some reason I cannot edit that post so lets try this again:

Hello All,

I have been back in the garden today tending to the plants and making sure to feed those who are dried out. Looks like my Cherry Bomb Auto is popping pistils, so she is in flowering stage at this point. I have the Cherry Bomb Auto Harvest Date @ Feb 24 (Sprout Date Dec. 19). The breeder has 70-75 days from seed to harvest. Which is good because I am going 12/12 on Feb 1st, so I will only have the auto under 12/12 for about 24 days. I know this may affect my yield, but I just wanted to throw an auto in there as a perk while I grow some regulars.

I also took the height of each of my plants today. The left side of the canopy is relatively short as these are the indica dominate plants, whereas the right side of the tent those plants are taller and more sativa leaning. Below are the measurements of each plant @ 5 weeks.

I have also included two shots of the Cherry Bomb Auto.

Plant/Height (Inches):

Fruit Salad: 11.5''
Green Crack: 9.5"
Jack Herer: 9.5"
Sour Patch Kids: 9.5"
Grizzly Purple Kush: 9"
Cherry Bomb Auto: 8"
Blueberry: 7"
Sweet Zombie: 6"
White Strawberry: 5"
Lemon Garlic OG: 4.5"

Hello All,

Went back into the garden today to check on my plants. Looks like the Jack Herer & Grizzly Purple Kush are going to both be heavy eaters. They are averaging about 2-3 days (others are currently 5 days) and then they need a feed or water. I am still just feeding all plants the standard mix below until Flowering Stage:

Feed:
Sensi Grow A & B @ Full Strength (2ml's per Liter)
Voodoo Juice @ Full Strength (2ml's per Liter)
B-52 @ Full Strength (2ml's per Liter)
Black Diamond Full Strength (15ml's per 4 Liters)
Xtreme Gardening AZO Full Strength (1tbl per 4 Liters)
Terpinator @ Full Strength (20ml's per gallon)
Rock Resinator @ Full Strength (2ml's per Liter)
Sensizym @ Full Strength (2ml's per Liter)

The plan is to continue between Feed and Water until Jan. 31st at this point I am going to flip the switch to 12/12 unless I run into a height challenge. Meaning if I have a plant that reaches 24" before Jan. 31st than I will flip to 12/12. Since I installed a Botanicare 4x8 Flood Tray with Fast Fit stand I lost about 20" in overall height. My grow tent is only 8' tall.

It is also worth mentioning that I do have Phosphoload on hand to control any serious height challenges. I do not like to use PGR's, but I do keep them on hand just incase. I know I have other options such as LST or SCROG, but I am not opposed to using Phosphoload just needs to be used in correct amounts with proper flushing. Don;t everyone come at me about cancer, I understand the risks and everyone has their own preference :). I included a picture of the canopy so that everyone can see! Until next time.

Hello All,

I know it's been a couple of days since my last update, but I got busy attending a cannabis expo in SoCal as I had to setup a trade show. I am back in the garden again today and the girls look really healthy. I get more and more excited about harvest everytime I go in the tent and look at my girls. I did some general watering today and made some notes and I plan to share with you my thoughts.

I am now in my 6th week of veg and I have been feeding my plants nutrients since week 4. Each of my 5 gallon plants receive approx. 6-8 liters of water. I am also feeding 3ml per liter of Grow A&B and full strength supplements. All of my plants seem to responding well and showing not signs of burn or deficiency with the exception of Sour Patch Kids (Will discuss later). My environment has been very well controlled and I feel is ideal for veg. My Temp range is 73-79* and humidy range is 40-43.

My plan is to switch all plants to 12/12 on Jan. 27th which is next Friday. My plant heights range from 9-15" with the more sativa plants leaning to the taller side. The day before I start flowering I will take a final height from veg state and post here, so that we can measure stretch of each strain. Lastly I made some notes on each strain which I will share below. I have also included pictures of each of my notes.

Fruit Salad:
This strain is thriving very well and loves to eat nutes. I have also noted that their was a large stretch of interal-noding during the 5th week. It is the only plant in the tent that doesn't have tight spacing. This plant has also been the only plant to stay directly under my Mars Hydro LED it whole entire veg life. Not sure if its the lighting/nutes or genetics that caused stretching, but I am predicting this to be my tallest plant.

Cherry Bomb Auto:
This strain started flowering about a week ago. I also topped this auto during the second week of veg. Once I noticed it began flowering I immediately move this plant under the Mars Hydro LED. My experience with this LED in the past is that it helps produce heavy crystallization during flowering. I will continue to flower this plant under Mars Hydro LED until harvest. I have a feeling that is plant is going to be short and compact, but should produce some good weight. It's also worth noting that this is what I am feed Cherry Bomb Auto while it is flowering.
--Sensi Bloom A&B (3ml per Liter)
--Big Bud (2ml per Liter)
--Bud Candy (2ml per Liter)
--Bud Factor X (2ml per Liter)
--Nirvana (2ml per Liter)

Sour Patch Kids Clone (Dark Heart Nursery):
This is the only plant in my garden that is seemly struggling and has been since the day I brought it home and transplanted it. When it was transplanted into my 5 gallon I used Roots Organic 707 and it seemed to burn the clone. When I noticed this I didn't feed any nutes, but just straight plain 6.7 water. Then a couple of weeks later it showed a nute diff., so I feed it some nutes at half strength. I also noticed that it has been a little stunted. I think this is a very sensitive strain. I normally don't have this many challenges with a strain. I am going to continue to try and get this strain back on track, but I am not a fan of it thus far. I am hoping my opinion changes, but so far I am not excited about it. This strain is new to market and was created by Dark Heart Nursery and shown off at the Emerald Cup in Santa Rosa. I have included pics so you guys are more than welcome to share your thoughts also.

I will continue to keep everyone posted as I progress through this grow. As always I welcome any thought, questions and/or comments.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to update everyone to my grow. I went out to the garden today and measure the height of all my plants and I have decided to go 12/12 today because of the plant heights. I am assume that every plant is going to at least double in size compared to their veg height. What I don't want to happen is I run into a vertical restriction because my plants grow taller than my overhead space.

I have flipped the switch today and 12/12 will start at 7pm PST and run into 7am PST. I am also working on tweaking my flowering nutes. I was working with some local gardeners and just looking at some of their flowering results for supplement they use I was actually impressed. I am heading to the local hydro shop tomorrow to buy some different supplements. I will update what the final nutes will look like for flowering tomorrow.

Lastly I did get the final veg height of every plant and will list below. Then when it is time to chop them down I will take another final height and this will allow us to see how much each strain stretched. Keep Growing!

Final Vegetation Heights:

Fruit Salad: 20"
Jack Herer: 16.5"
Green Crack: 15"
Sour Patch Kids: 15"
Blueberry: 15"
Grizzly Purple Kush: 14.5"
White Strawberry: 13"
Lemon Garlic OG: 12"
Sweet Zombie: 12"

Hello All,

Today is the first day of flowering and I have firmed up my nutrient line for the flowering period. I will include the list of flowering nutes at the end of this post. I would also like to note that when this harvest is finished I will be sending a sample of each strain to a company in Northern California called Pure Analytics. This will be for testing the potency and contents of each strain. This will allow me to compare against the breeder numbers and also allow me to see how successful this grow was relative to future and past grows. I will continue to keep everyone posted as we move along.

Flowering Nutes:

Sensi A&B
Voodoo Juice (Wk 1-2)
Xtreme Gardening AZO (WK 1-2)
Emerald Goddess (Vitamin B Supp)
Black Diamond
Rock Resinator

Hello Everyone,

The plants have now reached week 2 of flowering and they are really starting to stretch. Since I have both Hybrids and Indica's I have organized the tent from tallest to shortest. This allows me to adjust the right height of lights for every plant. I have been giving the plants 2 liters of water (with & without nutes (alternating)) about every 3 days. The auto flower cherry bomb also seems to be doing good and has multiple colas since I topped it very early in the veg stage. Although because it is in the 12/12 the yield probably won't be fully achieved as auto thrive the best on an 18/6 schedule. I will continue to keep everyone updated as this grow progresses. I have included some pictures of the plants as well.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry it has been awhile since my last update. I have been traveling very heavy and work flow is amping up since spring is coming. When I got back home from out of town last week I went to my tent to water my plants (normally water every 3 days) I was not a happy camper on what I found.

My Fruit Salad which was labeled feminized turned out to be a male. I must have missed it in pre-flower stage, because I was under assumption that all seeds were feminized, Not sure if I should blame the breeder or Seedsman.com for the error. Either way I caught it in week 2 of flower, and there were no signs of bursted flower sacs but I cannot be 100% sure. My only hope is that my tent is not contaminated. I quickly chopped her down.

My other challenge was that my White Strawberry by Strain Hunters hermied. Which was depressing as I was very much looking forward to smoking that strain. I chose not to remove the pollen sacs, and just chopped her down as well to avoid anymore potential challenges.

I am now left with 8 out of my original 10 plants. Not how I foreseen this grow going, but I guess with anything in life you will have these challenges. I plan on getting some more pictures of my girls today or tomorrow as we are in week 3 of flowering at this point and everyone looks solid. No more males or hermies (knock on wood).

I also took 2 pictures last week of the male Fruit Salad that was suppose to be a female and uploaded them. I am still shocked that Fruit Salad was a 100% male. Kinda of disappointing on the breeder or seedsman...

Until next time.

SSHZ,

I veg the Sweet Zombie for 39 days and I am guessing she is about 38"-48" tall. It is dark period for them right now, but I will get a measurement on her tomorrow and post it for you.

Don't know why my pic didn't show up but I'll try again later. They must have some stretch to them as mine are quite small but very busy. I decided not to pinch them once as I thought they may need some height- now I'm not so sure!
