NEW 1000 HPS PRODUCES HIGH TEMPS

i HAVE A new 1000 hps bulb that seems to produce a tremoundous amount of heat....outside it is 75- 90 fahr, and inside it is consistently 90 even with a 5000 btu ac blowing for 30 out of every 90 minutes......i dont recall my weak ass bulb doing this (killing almost everything around) last summer. This bulb was a little cheaper, but it was a name bulb AGRO........help?

I use 1000 watters and AC and you're going to have to run it all the time, not 30 min

is it aircooled??? do you ahve a glass lense on the hood??

yeah u wouldnt wanna run the ac without an aircooled hood. having that lamp compete with the AC is very costly and inefficient

To me, air cooled means I point a couple fans at the stars, just move the air and leaf the ac on, you may need to leaf ac on in the dark to give the room a cool start each day.

Air cooled is a form of cooling hte bulb by having it enclosed with a fan sucking out all the heat it generates. A cooltube and hoods are the most comon. Basically a enclosed box/tube (glass) with a intake and exhaust hooked up to a blower.

I like vertizontals for flowering which is a 4 ft octagonal hood w/ 100W hortilux, they cant be aircooled so AC is a must
