Those cages are 8 feet tall, right?
Nice color to that girl. Easy to imagine the tops as giant colas now.
Thanks for sharing that pic mate!

Took a few months off to rekindle my interest. I kept my moms and started working with some new things. Times have changed so much it's past frustrating but I'm still holding out. This is one of the new ones I've been working with.:tiphat:

Looking very nice there

What’s the cross? Nev’s X ___??

I’ll guess at something Glue or Chem related? Def looks like something adding some chunk to the NH and beefing up that calyx:leaf ratio

That is ECSD x SFV BX3, a cut I found from a seed plant I ran outside last year. She comes out differently depending on the lights I'm using. This is one I cut about a month ago right up close to a rack of T5's with a Gavita SE 600 way overhead.

I hear his frustration ... the problem these days it seems that more ignorant people care about price over quality , or are being trained to think the legal rec weed is better and spend on that

Like Weird says, I'm glad those guys are out there reading all these lab reports of best ways to grow from people that have never smoked a single cannabis flower in their lives. It makes the market that much more accessible when people see REAL cannabis again.

It’s gonna take a while for the cluster fuck of legalization to work it self out, after it does though there will be a craft industry. The Denver and Portland craft beer markets are prime examples of how I think it will play out. We all knew legalization was going to make things worse before they got better.

There is a dispensary in Denver called Diego Pellicer that stands out as a model for future craft cannabis businesses.

This one, my old sour grape, has done very well for a summer run in a hotter than normal room. She has plenty of Nevils haze in her so still at least 2 weeks to go. Can't wait to have my bathroom back!:tiphat:

I have one small Sour Valley out there but I'm not giving it much effort. It looks great and if I transplant it today or tomorrow it might come out pretty well. My biggest problem aside from the relentless fall storms is the lack of sunlight once I pass about the 15th of September, the sun just goes right over the backyard. That day marks the time when most of the plants last year were just flowering on the energy they'd stored during the sunnier time.
That plant was originally set out so I'd have an extra mom if the shit hit the fan and the lights went out. I've been working overtime so I could take the 45 days from Aug 1st and go fishing, alas, that may not come to pass, although I will be out there some at least. The white sharks have been a huge problem in the areas we usually fish, it's not so wise anymore to reach over and grab a fish by the mouth or keep a tuna boat side while you tail wrap it. I never thought I would see it but this place looks like it did in the 70's as far as summer traffic goes.:tiphat:
This is my "set it and forget it" room. The burnt-out plant is a sour that was too close to the lamp, the rest are Sour Valleys and one big Glue.10 days to go, give or take.

If prices stay around $9-$13 per gram, like this "craft dispensary", I see a lot of future in selling to friends or in an online store once recreational or federal laws change. Also, I find issue with the fact thaat the naming convention that Diego uses, like "Black Cherry Gelato" or "Garlicane", gives no genetic history and seems to be the lowest denominator in cannabis variety names, i.e., names that give you the very least info: you are supposed to think of "black cherries" when you smell, or smoke, that variety.....big deal. I believe that consumers will expect more if they are buying from a "craft cannabis" source.

Expertise should include the varietal's genetic history and I personally would want to know the story, even if they have a proprietary hybrid. Educated smokers wouldn't be so likely to buy from Diego Pellicer in my opinion, however this is true for the 7 dispensaries that I have experienced in Arizona and Colorado also - the bud tenders rarely know their stuff, and if they do share a nice genetic story, one that they were given by the dispensary or rec shop's directors, the story is lacking as well.

Where will expert genetic history, traceable and transparent, shine? From individual growers, small coops, and long-time seed companies that have owners dedicated to the genetic source history of their seeds. The ability to say, "I got these seeds direct from Mr. Greengenes", "I was gifted these seeds from Sam Skunkman", or "Gerrit Slot sold me his Masibindi that uses the Gypsy Nirvana Zamal cut in it" will be very valuable down the cannabis road.

People will want to purchase landrace varieties as well if the craft flower seller can verify, at least somewhat, that the plants being sold have a history that points to authenticity......like "I personally collected these seeds for this variety in Nepal in 2002 and have raised it since then".

Of course, accurate DNA testing will eventually reveal all......

Not sure...how many people have studied hops varietals to actually understand WHAT makes the beer they like so likable.?

Budwiser is corn based pilsner while Coors is rice based pilsner. How many know that even? VERY FEW and you're talking the most popular brands in the nation.

I'm not thinking the "craft" market will go down like so many expect. Fact is, not enough people CARE about the details, they just want the escape. Most people are escaping - not expanding. That is an important distinction to make.

My Sour Valley in the set it and forget it room is looking about as nice as I could hope. There's big Glue behind this section that I started taking down this morning. It's been a while since I've run a Glue so I'm really appreciating it.:tiphat:
