I use Hortonova trellis that I usually purchase at Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply.

Thanks but not what im looking for. I am looking for the netting that is used over the plants when they are getting quite big.

Mate, what yr seeking is not clear to me.

if yr plants have weak stems ... or say the heads are SO BIG yr branches can't hold them up ... anything you put on the plant will make the siuation worse.

whatever you use must be self supporting to take the weight OFF the plant.

many people tie individual branches to something higher. with my large sativa I always put a 2M (6 foot) stake in beside the plant when it is young to support the plant when it grows.

or you can get long stakes, branches or thin tree trunks and make a tripod over yr plants to tie them to.

or drive a stake in either side of the plant and run a rope/wire between the stakes ... then you can tie the branches to this rope/wire.

don't rely on shop-bought ... be inventive!

cheers!

SeaMaiden is correct, hortinova is the best trellis netting that I've used. Netting is made of a plastic material and holds it's form pretty well when installing (unlike the string netting). In addition the netting mesh is approximately 7"x7", that allows you to reach thru the netting when doing plant maintenance.

We plant in rows and use self feeding hog ring pliers to attach the netting to itself and support wiring, it allows one hand to remain free while fastening the netting.

Easy, I'd like to see that.

Sounds like a piece of equipment used to close up fish bags when shipping several thousand at a time. But it's fixed onto a stand, near the O2 tanks and bagging tables, has a lever you pull down and it fixes a steel ring around the bags so they don't leak.

They're called 'Spring loaded hog ring pliers', $24.99 at Cabela's.

FillthePotmore & I use cable ties to attach the netting. We don't pull them tight, leave a loop so they are easy to cut off at harvest. We reuse as much of the netting as we can, it will last several years.
