On the advise of the counter guy at the local store i went with promix and i am hella nervous about it. Wondering if i need to set up a recirculating water system like hydro or will a hand water or simple drip to waste system will do..and do i need to be feeding everytime because of the lack of food in there? Ive never grown in something like this before , im more of a 707 soil kinda guy but just getting back into the indoor gig as a hobby...
Please icmag point me in the right direction.
My poor man setup:
4x4. Under a 1k (16 bubba kush) 10" square pots with pro mix
4x8 under 2k all hps (20 bubba kush 12 agent orange in one gallon pots of ffoc
Nervous about putting those in 10" square pots of pro mix

Pro-mix is awesome stuff. I hand water every 3 days in 3 gallon pots of every 4-5 days in 5 gallon pots. If you are going the chem route I'm not sure about feeding. With some organic amendments though you could be doing water only or weekly teas.

^^exactly what he said.. I'm in 5 gal. Smarties, and I hand feed every 4/5 days .. I use chem nutes and it works well.. I just feed low, rarely over 6/700 ppm... and good runoff every time.. ul b happy.. PEACE.. oh,, 6.2 ph does well with most nutes, too..

hand or drip works well... I like a home made watering wand fed via gravity and raised reservoir...cheap easy effective..

Sweeet! Thx guys , u make me feel food about it. Things are going well so far and should continue. Im gona give it my best shot of course. There is a lot less pressure that i can do this 3 light setup for hobby/personal. Cant wait to burn this bucket of outdoor that was a huge disappointment this year. ( way late start) (that will never happen again)

Im sure il bring this thread up from the dead in a few months n show u guys how it turned out.
Thanks again fellas.

Pro-mix is so easy to use it's absurd. Get a good base fertilizer or dry organics and you're all set.

I do 1/2 pro-mix 1/4 ewc and 1/4 perlite and a little dolomite lime. Fert as you want. I try to stick with organic ferts.

Yeah pro-mix is great. Pretty good value too. That 3.8 cu/ft bale fluffs to ~7cu ft. I like mixing it with coco but have been thinking of trying it straight.

Pro Mix is easy to use in your indoor garden. Typically water every few days until runoff and feed 1/2 or 2/3 of the time (if using liquids) you water the plants until flush.

Promix has some cons to be aware of as well ,like waterlogging and ph drop if you feed to high, tends to go acidic over time but when used right is excellent stuff ,wet dry cycles as stated above lite ppms as they tend to concentrate and go acidic I found out had some long flushing sesions to get ph up then said to self time to try coco and the rest is history. Looking good. I've started liking General Organics for price, ease of use [easy ph control], results. Use all the additives. I have been using it more or less to their chart. You could start with a GO Box.

I use Earth Juice in bloom, but I suspect GO would work fine all the way thru. Good luck. -granger
