You've outdone yourself again Syd! Some very nice looking colas, looking big, compact and after trimming the larger leaves out she will be almost all calyxes, hairs and resin. Can't wait to hear how they smoke after a bit of cure, hopefully, she will still be very kind to you.
Personal question: I had not been growing many NLD strains, particularly not any that have the foxtail style buds. Now I do. In the past, I just waited for the hairs to brown and wither, then harvested by looks. Last year, I started using a handheld microscope and harvested based on trichomes, mostly milky, few ambers. I have an NLD strain that is almost all dark brown hairs, but a few calyxes that are still kicking out white hairs. The trichomes are mostly milky color, no amber. Do I need to take into consideration the white hairs or just go by trichome development? Kinda new to these types of strains, have always grown out the same WLD strain I have had for a long time.

I appreciate any advise Syd. Your grows always rock my friend. Keep em coming!
Peace, God bless

Hi SolarLogos mate! :tiphat:I am very honoured by your kind words. It's all on the genetics though ,once one learns some basic stuff. So go with good genes and odds are on your side :)

Regarding harvest times,it mostly is strain related I would say,I think that every time with a strain is kinda experimental.I have seen both wld and nld plants taking forever to show amber .I have harvested others really mature with a fair share of fresh pistils.I do check trichs ,but nowadays I mostly trust the looks of calyxes and maybe a change in smell. My personal advice would be branch testing every week to see what you like, some times less than 100% maturity can give a better high than total ripeness.
Hope it helps brother!

Thank Syd, I really appreciate your help. I have always wondered about that. I have seen strains that are supposed to finish in 11-14 weeks, but have seen posts where they were at 17 weeks or so and they weren't quite there yet, so it's been quite confusing at times. I will take a sample tonight. Tossing it into a toaster over on say 200F, will that give me fair analysis you think?
Thanks again my friend.
Peace, God bless

Hello everyone, maybe it has already been said but I have not seen, the NepJam used in crossings with zamaldelica and purple zamal is the old Nepal x Jamaican or (nep x jam) x Nepal?
Thanks!

I have a couple NepalJam fem in veg. 6 weeks and just taking my time under a 400w MH running on 50%, waiting for space to flower. Decided to mainline/manifold these girls. I’ll update later when they get bigger

Anyone else had issues with the recent batch and hermies? Had 3 out of 4 of mine throw both nanners and drop sacs in week 6-7 of flower, no signs of hermies with my other strains yet. First time using this current space so a light leak is possible, don't think I over nuted them and my temps are generally good.

Used Bud Blood in wk1, they looked pretty far along and a sample smoke wasn't too wirey in effect, so it did seem to accelerate flowering, but I wonder if that could have led to them too. Last remaining one looks nearly finished to me at the moment and I'm midway through week 7.

10 weeks from seed, 3 gallon coco. First day in flower. Got neglected over the holidays but the newest grow is looking good.
Left had faster growth and now has 12 tops. Light green in colour.
Right only has 8 tops and has a more blue/green shade to the leaves and some purple streaks on the main stems.

Amazing strain.

Is there any information about the origins of the nepalese side of this strain? I think I,ve read somewhere that could be related with the highland Nepalese cross with n.lights from Reeferman, is that correct?

Ok sorry, now I ve found where in the whole post the info is.
So, talking about phenotypes, even thought It would fall into the classic taxon Sativa, I guess specimens with wide leaf could be found easily , similar to Hindu Kush indicas let say, althought with different chemotype offcourse.
Any of you have observe this kind of pattern endemic to the high Himalayas? Mine is showing these features from early stages of growing.

According to Reeferman’s current website his highland nepalese is crossed with a hint of northen light, IDK if tropical got the “untouch” ( I mena without crossing it)previous parental.

The vigour of this strain is incredible, growing under the invernal sun is growing compact and robust, the general appereance been sowed in the winter solstice is a 25 cm stout plant with the antocianines all over the veins and the underside of the leaves.

Nice stretch on this one as well but stayed much more columnar with some purple tones on the main stems.

Thanks solar
Sorry for the crappy yellow pics. My lights are out during most of the daytime and leaves me with a tiny window of natural light to work with in the winter.

If you mean the big bushy one in the back, that’s my Tikal at 13 weeks now. Very sativa pheno. I’ve got pics up in the Tikal thread. Smell like strawberries, very excited for that one even though I tortured it most of its life.

Here is the top cola on my bushy little NepJam. Definitely got the purple pheno here. She is turning some nice colors right now, about 6 week or so into flower. Her flowers are starting to put on some weight and the smell is wonderful, very sweet and floral scent that is probably my best smelling plant so far this season. Hoping to replicate a past NepJam which was the wife's favorite for bedroom activities.
