Hello all,

as some of you know, i m going to spend six months in nepal, starting in a month and a half.... i m getting ready to go there, but i have to ask you what to bring with me, cannabis related stuff or not.
i ll be working in kathmandu and the himalaya, spending all my free time trekking for ganja and hash, as it is my passion.

so what i ll bring for sure is trekking stuff...

now i m wondering about bringing

-dry sifting screens : 1m2 is around 10euro, i ll probably bring around 5 to 10m2, mostly to give away, and a some few for me. should i bring more ? it could be a very nice thing to trade ?

-bubble bags ? i don t have mine yet, not sure if i ll find them... but i m more a dry sieve kind of smokers... do i need some ?

-volcano ? it s a bit large and big, but i really would love to have some vaporiser there. also i could send it by post.

-inhale (portable vaporiser) : this one i ll bring it with me !

-water bubbler : not sure, i ll probably find some better pipe to smoke hash there

-rolling papers : i ll buy a big box of 50 big rolling papers, so that i can give away some too, and some for me.

that is pretty much all i ve thought about...

what do you think, what do i need to bring with me, and how many/much ? would love to have some feedback of some ppl being in nepal !

thanks a lot !

but what is beeline ??? english is not my first language, and beeline according to google means going straight....
about the permanent source of fire, i ll have some butane lighter gas always with me, that is the supply for my portable vaporiser... so i should get a butane lighter too.. thanks mate !

titoon, I would forget about the volcano in Nepal, especially as you'll mostly find hash and you're not sure to find power all over, especially if you visit villages in the mountains.

About your seed/strains search, don't forget the Annapurna area, i.e around Pokhara. In that area, the village of Tatopani is well known for its charras. If you do the whole Annapurna circling, you could also try a visit in the Mustang region, beyond Muktinath, although I'm not sure it's opened to foreigners, but I guess you could still sneak in. I have great memories of Mustang charras, a few years back. (ok half great, as there was an episode in a police station with the whole village watching and 1000 rs less in my wallet... around 35 euros these days, but great nonetheless. )

Rolling papers, why not, but you'll find the locals (and the westerners actually) mostly smoke in shiloms and it's quite easy to pick up the habit :)

About dry sifting screens or bubblebags, don't forget that it's mostly hand rub over there, even though it's possible to find dry sifted resin. But then I'm sure people would be interested in modern techniques.

Now I'm saying all this with the perspective of someone who when there more than 20 years ago... things have probably changed since... or not :)

high bro!

alot of folks who went there, told me while buying boxes of papers (the 50 papers ones), that its very hard to get papers + people love them up there!!! so should be a nice present or trading thing, and yeah forget the volcano and pipes, the i-inhale mite come in handy, but thats it, if you bring screens with you, you dont really need the bags, since you could bring along the same micron sized screens with you and use those instead of the bags (if you get the screens cheap). also don't worry bout bongs or pipes n stuff, you should be able to find some wiked stuff up there, ...

and don't forget the most important thing: respect :)

I wouldnt take the volcano to nepal , you'll never beable to send that back! I have just returned from Nepal after 6 weeks, I have a house and family, my connections got some dry sieved which is all you really need if your not picky, but do get some varieties of HASH, it's cheap enough and readily available.
Forget about the bubble bags, you wont have ICE.. just smoke the charas and sieve.

You can get any pipe in THAMEL, there are souvenir shops that have hundreds of pipes. I presume you are staying in THAMEL? there are decent restaraunts, but do make sure you go to the BAKERY CAFE at the beginning of THAMEL, right below JAVA. excellent momo there.

as for a portable vaporizer, only if you get dry sieve will this work, as you wont be hooking up with actual BUDS. They roll everything meaning plants, for hash. so at this time of year, no buds. just hash. Nepal is known for hash, not for actual buds as they are always pollenated.
Let me know if you have any questions on good eat or where to go, I live in NEpal part time and know it like the back of my hand.
Always say "NAMASTE and "dhanyabhat" (thank you)... don't forget to negotiate for everything you buy.

Good (worn not new) boots.
Sunglasses.
Lotsa Sunscreen.
Anti-diarrheal medicine.
Swiss Army Knife.
Aspirin, you'll gonna have a headache while getting used to the thin air.

Before you pack the Volcano, check if there's a compatible power source for it. 220 Volts, 50 Hz is used in Nepal.

Hello all, thanks for all your tips !

thanks for your tips hanuman !
bout the volcano yes seems that 12 hours of electricty cut a day should prevent me from using it.
Rolling paper, well not much for me but for gifts, as you said, i ll be picking the local habits, i love pipes/chillum for hash, that is the way to do it. I just like giving away stuff to people that don t have access too. it started with herb :)

20 years ago, must have been hell of a fun !!!

well i m bringing two good pairs of trekking shoes, and i ll get some extra socks as you said. thanks !

clorox well i hope you re wrong about the lawyer mate ^^as nepal is quite a poor country, i m expecting to be able to get out of any bad situation with some cash.
also i m used to be very carefull after years of growing in a pretty harsh country and travelling around others, and will be in no rush as i ll be staying a while.. and i won t be travelling with kilos ^^

purple buds : thanks for the report, that what i was thinking... so 50 papers rolling papers, i ll do that !!!

but thanks for the reply, we re never carefull enough about security.

tintala, thanks for your input ! i was expecting to see you around !!! so first, thanks for the tip on the volcano, yes i definetly knows a friend who will love to hear that it will stay here ! And i ll have my inhale in case of !
about the smoke, the thing is i am picky as hell ! Lol ! i dont like to smoke the same stuff from one day to another (except for very very few things - like some good nepalese), so i ll probably be looking for different batchs, and herb of course. I'm used to fit in the smokers community and getting contacts, so i'm sure i ve find whatever i m looking for if i can wait ! but i dont mind smoking only hash that 's for sure.. but various hash !!! i cannnnn tttt wait !!!!!

bubblebags, that what i thought, anyway i m not much into it. but yes, i ll bring some of my screens, i have to make a batch of hash myself there, for the fun, the pleasure.. i know it probably won t be as good as the real stuff made by the nepalese, but i really enjoy transforming herb in anyway. i m looking forward to make some jelly hash too(iso oil + hash ), i think that is what the amazing nepalese hash i had was probably made of...

well i dont really want to stay in thamel, sounds like tourist places, i want to fit with the locals ( i ll be working in a nepalese company), and don t care if i don t have the most modern place to live. I ll probably live on the north /northeast of kathmandu ( i work in Bhatbhateni). i ll def send you a pm if i have any question, many thanks for that ! i m here up to september, so maybe we ll have a chance to meet if you come back !

Honkytonk
well i think i can buy sunscreen there, but i ll bring some. anti diarehal is good idea too ! the volcano, not such a good idea finally, so it ll stay at home.

Abraham Lincoln
leatherman, that is what i need yes.. i have to buy one..

Many thanks all, if anybody have more input, suggestion..

i m thinking of bringing some old portable computers to give away, i have some quite old apple but which run nicely some old games and stuff. i m sure there would be some nep kids happy with that. i have to see how much weight i can bring with me...
