neighbor complained about music

I live in a townhouse, and the owner of the unit next to me (not attached) own a small dog he lets outside uattended for hours at a time.

He just came over a few minutes ago to complain about the volume level of my music and the time at which it is heard (im an early riser, usually around six, and sometimes like to start the day off with tunes, and may get carried away).

His dog is much more bothersome than my music, as the dog is barking for hours and hours, while my tunes may last 15-20 minutes.

I played it cool and apologized, but didnt say anything about the dog, since i didnt want this to go any bigger...mainly because I do have a small garden in my closet, and I didnt want to draw attention to myself....

thats the downside of this, low profile truly means low profile.

i would go next door and tell him that his dog is drowning out my music...could you please turn the dog down...lol...some people test however far they can push you if you allow it he will bitch about everything...i would check the old fart...so he knows you have balls between your legs and wont take his bitch ass shit...he disrespects you but expects respect from you..it dont work that way...whether you have a tiny grow or no..you get what you give in this life

It's dark chocolate they cannot metabolize. Milk chocolate is fine. I would wait a week or so then tell him his dog is annoying the crap out of you and he needs to do something about it. Return him the favor and let him know that annoyances go both ways and he can get over it.

i, too, would find loud music at 6 am to be most annoying. since you are co-operated with HIS request i think it would be reasonable of you to ask that he keep the dog inside when you are trying to sleep, etc.

i like dogs but dont own one ... i think dog-owners must have the ability to tune out their own dogs annoying barking. keep your interactions with him civil and it should work out in the end . good luck.

Hurting the dog is just wrong.

And milk chocolate can be deadly to dogs as well. A handful of chocolates won't hurt them, it's when the dog finds the 1 pound box of Valentines candy laying around that it can get ugly.

I personally think you handled the situation very well. You're one hundred percent correct about low profile meaning that's it's best to back down rather than escalate a situation. When that happens to me, I usually just go smoke some of my primo bud, and all is well

its the stimulant theobromine that kills the dog. bakers chocolate is the worst, down the line as chocolate gets more and more refined down to white chocolate. with that said, someone weighing 220lbs would have to eat 12.5 pounds of milk chocolate to eat the lethal level for dogs..

well, we are pretty much neutral towards each other...he chats with some of the other neighbors, but we never really chat...which is fine with me. I really pretty much just prefer to keep to myself (which is why I am really not into this townhouse style living, being part of a community, etc.).

If it was not for the fact that I grow, I probably would have been in his face about the dog a little more. But like I said, I really just prefer to not draw attention to myself.

My ex-girlfriends pitt ate a whole halloween bag of Tootsie Rolls and he was just bouncing off the walls, dont know how much theobromine is in those but a whole bag didnt kill him.

As far as the neighbor goes, act like you would if you didn't have a grow and know the law, as far as I know a cop cant come in and look around your home without permission unless you report a burglary in wich case they are required by law to come inside and take a look around. Don't push it to being an asshole though, like Outkast said try to befriend the guy, but don't act too submissive or he will try to make you his bitch.

I would not cause any problems with an older neighbor who may have lots of free time to make you his next hobby. Its a no win situation. Who knows maybe his next step down the road if you dont get along is to call the cops and complain about the noise. That would be all you need. Police at your door.

It cant be stressed how important your neighbors are in your life now,you can be a man and not kiss ass and still be the best neighbor on the block.Need a receptacle added?Sure neighbor!My neighbors all think I work on the computer buying and selling shit on EBAY,I'm really pretty lucky that they are all pretty cool.Its just so important not to piss anyone off,if one of my neighbors complained about my music that would be the end of it for sure,that doesnt mean you shouldnt let him know that his dog is bothering you though.It can be done without any animosity or anything like that
