When I use neem oil I mix in a little dishsoap (ivory, per jorge cervantes) as a surficant. Per L of water I add 5ml/1tsp neem + 5ml/1tsp soap...
I spray an hour BEFORE light come on. once per week, no issues.
good luck

I mix mine at 1 1/2 tsp per quart of water with 1 1/2 ivory soap to mix as thats what it says on the bottle I got, dyna-gro . Thats usually good for 10-15 plants depending on size

I go 1 tsp pr quart of einstien oil and advance nutrients penatrator, i like to use a sprayer that you pump up with air and pull the trigger, way easier than the hand pump variety, fill it half full of hot water add oil and penatrator, shake the shit out of it, add remainder of cold water, shake more, spray, shake more, spray, repeat weekly and bugs will not be a problem. your plants will look awesome, the oil is a leaf polish as well as an insecticide. jc

I only use a few drops of castile soap to my neem mix.

wikipedia said:
Castile soap is a name used in English-speaking countries for soap made exclusively from vegetable oil (as opposed to animal fat)

Don't use detergent, like palmolive. There is a difference between soap and detergent.

Dr. bronners makes a nice castile soap.

I don't know about castile soap but I know ivory brand soap can be found easily at grocery stores. Just make sure you get the regular unscented kind.

As far as the neem, its supposed to be thick like motor oil but in colder temps can thicken up or solidify into clumps.

what you do is place the bottle of neem in some warm water for a few minutes to loosen it uo... the measure it out & mix

thanks i think i'll just get some ivory dishsoap...i did see some green products at wally world and it said made from plants but then they were all full of purfumes and that kind of scared me off ..i think ivory would be the easyest and cheapest way to go ..thanks greyskull , i guess i was just thinking it froze or something in the mail and that it mite not be any good still ..but now that everyone says its just that thick ...i feel a little better ..

you no its funny how we are so freaked out about putting shit on our plants..but i have watched 6 ft plants outdoors dry up and turn to shit before my very eyes and i dont think my heart could take watching such a horror again ..haha..

thanks again

finilly found the castille soap at the gnc vitamin store ..i got the dr bonners and i got the mint leaf kind ..hope that dosnt matter ...been spraying the shit around everywere ..got some clones cut and rooting and bought a few from my buddy ..this time tho ,i sprayed them down real good for a couple days before introducing them to the rest of the family...
i used a 1 tsp of each neem oil and castile soap to a spray bottle the holds about a liter and a half ..i may need to go a little stronger but i'll keep my eyes pealed to make sure things dont get out of hand this time around ..

thanks everyone

cool thread. i learned i was using not enough neem in my sprays and that i could use a natural hemp product that i already owned as a wetting agent.
unscented baby mild pure-castile soap

i'm also using ed rosenthal's zero tolerance spray with some success. it's made with cloves, cinnamon and other nice smelling natural things.

anybody ever try adding cinnamon oil extract to a spray solution?

Someone actually did a little test on adding fragrances to neem oil and it turned out peppermint oil was one of the best smell "maskers".

very interesting. great for those who love the smell of mint. unfortunately and strangely, i have a cat who goes totally crazy for peppermint. she eats gum, altoids, tictacs, loves to lick vapor rub and icyhots. i have to keep that shit away. lol. i could imagine my crop getting chewed up if it smelled like mint.

You can also just use Jungle Rain

Which is a blend of castile soap and citrus oil.

The castile soap acts as an emulsifier and the citrus oil has a nice scent which in of itself is a bit of a pest repellant and blends harmoniously with the neem oil.

sorry i waited so long toget back to this thread ..i think i have the little basterds at bay for now ..i havnt seen any webs or any other signs yet ..i have been monkeying around with my ph trying to get it nailed down ..

hey reddy, i had been thinking about the cinnomin oil as i seen it at the drug store for candy making ..i no theres a few brands on the market using cinnomin oil in theres and it works for a deer repellent to i guess as i seen it list in on the bottle that was for that use ..i like the idea of the neem oil having anti fungul stuff in it ..as i just started some seeds and i struggle with damping off ..i forget to let the little fuckers breath...but i tried a little on them the other day and they loved it ..no ill effects what so ever ..i did make my mixture a little stronger too...i added 2 tsp to a liter or so of water and a tsp of the castille soap..i like the minty freshness i get with each spray ..duh....i no i was going to go in to this whole pepperment patty commercial for you all..sorry i woke up to 2 feet of white stuff outside my door and figured i better smoke a fatty before i man the shovel and rock salt ..

yeah inflorescence, i think the neem has a very dasty smell to it ..the mint dose mask it pretty good ..i seen someone say they liked the smell of it ..cant say i agree by anymeans ..shit gets caught in the back of my throat every time i get a straight wiff of it ..

good info on this thread ..most dont no the amounts folks are using out there when it comes to things like mixing nutes or bug sprays ..i guess i wish there was a thread that could just answer all the big questions we all seem to find our selfs asking ..i no some were down the road someones going to ask this exact question and with any help they may find this thread and find some usful info ...man aint that what its all about ..everyone deserves a shot at growing great pot ..

thanks
